From what I’ve gathered from lots of streams and some devs besides Shawn too is that Nick accomplished far far less than Shawn thought he was doing, and Shawn, not really being a project manager as his primary skill, didn’t realize this until very late into development. The post until October was definitely related but I wouldn’t be surprised if another delay is coming. The advantage /disadvantage of not taking money from folks is Shawn has less pressure to rush and he definitely seems the type who wouldn’t, so another delay seems realistic. But tho he’s not financially pressured, I can’t imagine some of the people who they’ve taken in would want to get paid soon
I don't think Shawn has personal pressure to hit EA but I've gotten the impression their artists or whoever they plan to pay first are not pleased with it. I think we're unlikely to see much work on the remaining races until they hit EA for that reason.

Can't believe people are complaining about the class redesigns. The initial classes were literally P99 copy/paste. Actually nevermind I guess I shouldn't be surprised people are upset they're changing that lol

People are annoyed with it first and foremost because it means missing another EA date.

It's a CU (Combat Update) and less of a "class reworks" thing. TTK and pacing, mob balancing, has to all be redone with the overhauls they have planned.

This is the part that is being unsaid by MNM staff/community. It's not really a redesign of classes. It's a redesign of MNM combat overall which amounts to a CU.

As soon as it was announced we knew it wouldn't make EA this year.

Genuine question, why do you care when EA happens if you're in closed beta? So you can start your "investment" (lmao) into your character?

I stopped playing beta coming up on a month ago. We just had the last wave of beta invites start hitting 60 the last 2 weeks (albeit there was some no-lifers and mostly Elementalists who accomplished that), so for original invites you can imagine most of us are done testing things by this point. There is only so much content in the game. We colleted item camps/drops into a spreadsheet and moved on.

Some us are ready for the real thing and done with our trial run. I'll continue to check on the game as more content/class changes are released, but day-to-day playing is the distant past now.

They removed everything they should've removed on Druid (dumb Cureberries, dumber pet), so I'm grateful for that.

Unfortunately they did not add a high-desirability buff for other classes that would help them more easily secure top end group spots. I expect them to be a distant third place yet again when groups are forming for the most demanding xp spots. They can heal, but they don't make the tank stronger or improve the group's mitigation like a Cleric, nor do they reduce a mob's dmg output and increase melee dps like a Shaman.

They could've easily made the 'seasons' mechanic group auras and fixed this entire issue. Obviously you'd have to play with the values, but if the +spell dmg effect was an aura every caster heavy group would prefer a druid similarly to how every melee group would prefer a Shaman. A +10% healing received aura would ensure a Druid a spot in every main tank group in multi-group content. I guess we're supposed to believe that THIS TIME groups will form up specifically seeking a class with evac, and raids will want druids for *checks notes* regeneration....

Also the joy of playing a Druid is seamlessly swapping between a healing role and a dps role. Now with this seasons system they are discouraging that gameplay by penalizing the Druid for changing their behaviour based on a changing situation. If you start nuking too much you lose access to a healing line until you start healing more again? Yikes. Gonna have to see how this one functions in practice because it doesn't sound awesome. Making me double think if I can weave in a few sneaky nukes if I have the mana is not the Druid gameplay I love. Mantles being on a 20 minute cooldown will probably need adjustment, but I guess I'll reserve judgement.

Meh as long as they are adequate healers they will find groups because they will be 80% of the available healers IMO

Also, never expected Quaid to be a Druid simp, had you pegged as a DPS/Tank main for sure mayne

Druid was my first 60 in Classic era and I've got a soft spot for them. I've mained all archetypes since then. Except bard because they're gay.

Bards are always weird. In OG EQ they were the #1, #2, and #3 causes for carpal tunnel. FFXI bards were... probably a horrible mistake. FFXIV bards are just rangers with guitars. EQL bards are surprisingly fun. Any 5 group spells can be permanently on. You can still use /melody for dots. Great fun and utility.

You left out Vanguard bard which actually had a really cool song creation system and was most assuredly heterosexual

I’m trying to convince Shawn that people would pay a smaller sub ($2-5/mo) for end game disputes be televised Elf Court on a People’s Court style weekly show, who’s with me? Maybr Nirgon could even be brought in as an expert witness on work release

Meh I enjoyed watching Nick's streams and even did so when he was playing HoTS but watching him make changes live on stream based on Twitch chat was WILD. I can't see how that would be acceptable under any circumstance. I wish him no ill will and all the best in his future endeavors but if you watched his dev streams at all you had to know what he was doing was not healthy for the game and the correct move was made.

It’s really on Shawn and one thing I haven’t been impressed with is how much Shawn has been happy to make excuses or even potshots for nick’s role in the delay or various issues in the game. I’m not saying he’s wrong in the things he pointed out, but as the lead he should take ownership of the fact that this happened under his watch and he needs to make sure this doesn’t happen again, but I don’t get that sense. The next Nick could come and go and Shawn could easily make another escape goat out of him
