Monsters and Memories (Project_N) - Old School Indie MMO

I don't see the game being super sustainable, at least not at the level that people will want it to be at. I watch a lot of people play and many of them are kinda resonating on a few issues. They don't have the urge to continue grinding hard since there's no real reason to do so, they don't see themselves playing the game long-term, and most of them wouldn't be having fun if they didn't have a static to do stuff with. It's a fun game to waste time and run around in, but I share a lot of those sentiments. I don't see myself playing this long-term. If I hit the content wall there's basically no way I'm waiting half a year for more content. I see most people dipping when they realize how much they have to grind camps to level later on. The hell levels and real exp grind hasn't been hit by 90% of the players, and the majority of them don't know what's in store. When the requirement to grind long hours meets with the lack of a point in continuing and wildcards like WoW Forever get thrown into the mix, I think the game will be taking more of a hit than people want to admit.

It surprised me that the peak for Monsters & Memories seems to be the same as it was for Pantheon, but apparently Pantheon took longer to reach that concurrent. Also, Pantheon apparently sold around an estimated 120K copies according to the info I could find. Imagine if M&M had 120K subs, no one would be worried about its future. I watched Pantheon and it maintained ~6K for quite a while, but then it took a nose dive when people hit the content wall. WoW Forever is coming at the perfect time to take the wind out of the sails. I also don't see people returning if they decide to leave for something else. I use my past experiences with sub based mmos for this prediction. Lost time, lack of new content and a sub fee to see if you even want to log in and play for more than an hour can be a pretty big barrier.

That's a long winded way of saying I'm a bit worried for them since I like the game. It needed another year in the oven though, and that's an actual fact.

(Also ranger is fun)

but, this morning I traveled to UD to see if FD was cheaper

In AV it was 40s, in UD it was 6...

Wood axe in AV is 90c, it was 26c in UD

I think damage is also capped by level, but its hard to remember with all the changes. So if youre damage capped already stats wont help until the next level.

Who did you try to buy the axe from? On the shady vendors its very high. There are q few npcs that have it in UD for cheaper, or you can pay ludicrous prices from the shady vendors. Don't buy from shady vendors, they underpay and overcharge for convenience.

Maybe av doesn't have a lumberjack vendor or garrison vendor?

Weapon damage for sure is, from my experience in beta.

Noodleface God damn scared me when I logged in. Read the MOTD and though if we downloaded your map we might get banned from the game lol.

There's no risk. If you're really worried you can click off the tail player.log. I do suggest if you compile the maps you do it when the games not running. I improved performance by like 50% last night too haha.

Experimented with using their lighting system to make maps look more legit.

I get that people are gonna do this shit but , and no offense to noodleface (not sure why but I feel like I’ve seen your dick on here at some point or am I thinking of someone else) but I highly recommend against using these things. A big part of the fun of this game is exploring places you haven’t been before. I remember my first time going into blacktide bay and thinking whoah when does this zone end, and was a blast finally finding the boat area. But with this map you’ll just be like oh , that’s cool, big zone and a big part of the fun is gone.

personally I think you guys should treat it like a movie or good tv show and avoid spoilers

Mostly agree with this sentiment, but there was some stuff I could only experience in EQ with the assistance of something like SEQ. Monk 1.0 was among the biggest bullshit and it took more than 40 hours straight of camping Raster. Without something like SEQ and having an audible alert on placeholders I would've gone completely mad. I also had a lot more free time in those college days. Not a freaking chance I could repeat anything like that today. There's a difference between being blown away by the massiveness of a zone and spending an hour trying to figure out where to sell beetle eyes (nerfed btw).

Aren’t you in the top secret Discord infos guild? Don’t want others to have access to your top secrets?

Nothings been a secret since alpha really lol. Anything I didn’t tell people was to not ruin the fun for them like I would drop hints like hey think about the mobs name what might that tell you about when it spawns etc, it was fun for people to figure that stuff out. There were no timers or anything like that being kept secret or if they are then it’s a secret from me too. There’s a lot of new stuff on this release that no one s figured out including anyone I know.

I bought an Enchanted Copper Chain Tunic for 22 Silver.

I have no idea if that's a good price, but for level 15, the stats are really good. Particularly given the fact that I was wearing a tattered cloth tunic heh.
