I'd guess they settle above 20k once it all shakes out. Non trivial amount of people probably taking a break to play WoW forever and check out MNM after some updates.
I don't think people appreciate how difficult it is to get players back once they've stepped away, particularly with a game like this.

People talk about taking a "break" as though they're all inevitably going to come back in a few weeks. But that's not usually how it works. People adjust to not playing. They establish new routines, move on to other games, get invested in something else, or simply realize they're perfectly content without MnM occupying their gaming time. Once that habit is broken, there's no guarantee they'll feel compelled to pick it back up.

And MnM has an additional hurdle that a lot of other games don't - a subscription fee. You're asking someone who has already stepped away to actively decide to start paying for the privilege of coming back. That's an additional barrier to re-engagement, particularly when there are plenty of other games competing for their time and money.

I've said this before, but I think December is when we'll start getting a much clearer picture of what MnM's actual subscription base looks like. By then, you'll have accounted for the initial launch excitement wearing off, cancellations from people who didn't stick around, late subscribers who wanted to see how things developed, and competition from WoW: Forever, GTA VI, and whatever else is pulling people away.

The initial subscription numbers tell us how many people were interested enough to give the game a shot. The numbers after the initial excitement wears off will tell us how many people actually want to make it a regular part of their gaming routine. Those are two very different things.

OK got my money, was initial told it was in UD bank but after a follow up email I was told it is in Evershade bank. Why they put it there as a deep gnome I have no idea. So I guess check all the banks...

Thanks!

Trolls look amazing as everyone predicted.

High Elves need a lot of work. Maybe hairstyles fix it, but those shoulder/neck proportions on the female are friggin whack.
Yeah like he said, the elves are probably gonna get adjusted from what they are currently. They just tweaked the DE models to the HE proportions and beefed em up a bit.

Man, I don't wanna harsh your buzz but, "Amazing"?

Yall sounds like people that just came out of an abusive relationship finding out that your new partner ONLY berates you while you do the dishes instead of hitting you.

I get it, disclaimer and all...but really "amazing"? None of the stuff in this game looks amazing aside from the pre-paid asset packs they bought for things like water volumes, it looks like what it is; a game made by indie devs.

Yeah, I think the form expression is 'amazing' on that model, especially when one compares it to the general generic tone of race body silhouettes in other mmorpgs. The only better one that comes to mind is WoW. Of all the well populated MMORPGS - ESO, GW2, EQ & EQ2, FF14, BDO... none of them have race choices that are as bodily expressive as that Troll.

If those other mmorpg models are what you like though that's cool, we just won't agree.

The last mmorpg I can remember that had superior silhouettes to that MNM Troll was Wildstar.

The more friction there is in the game, the harder it becomes to come back as well.

Someone is going to look at having to resubscribe and then remember how to play this janky ass shit where all the systems are a quarter century old, and be like...nah, I'll just play something else.

It doesn't help if you want to come back and catch up you hit the multiple hell level wall. Seriously who thought hell levels every 5 levels was a good idea?

It's another "system" of EverQuest that was the result of fucking up, but these devs included it for...reasons.

I don't mind throwing in hell levels but I wish they were sprinkled in a way that were for more impactful levels. Like it at level 24 you get some massive new spell, really make the player earn it.

Well, wondered back to elf forest last. Discovered Penshaw is all red mantle so I am good there…

Actual elf guards though… not so much… at least they added the pre-Agro warning message heh.

Bro showed me a way around them to get IN to EW…now getting OUT… but.. I found myself in the ez side of blacktide bay. That will be an adventure for tomorrow!

I'm the one who worked with a GM to get that looked into. Guard Faelan killed my ass twice when I ran towards his bridge with skellies on my heels. heh
