Well they could still go hard, and think that it might be the right solution, just was wishing they'd give it a week and collect data on one or two bans before going right to all three. Just isn't scientific I guess lol, maybe I'm too STEMy

This meta should hopefully be a bit more fun now. Though honestly, I’ve only been playing janky stuff lately in non-ranked, and surprisingly I wasn’t seeing a ton of Oko. So this might encourage me to play ranked again.

My jank of choice lately has been a Doom Foretold / cheap card draw enchantments / Dance of the Manse / Oath of Kaya with bounces one. Actually works pretty well against a lot of decks (not competitively obviously, but fun.)

Honestly I feel like banning all three might have been overkill, I feel like they should have started by just banning Oko or Oko+one of the other two and seeing how much of a change occurs. Veil of Summer wasn't breaking too much before rotation.

They even could have banned one or two in Arena earlier and used it as a testing ground for what the best bans for paper would be. Since they can ban stuff there weekly / daily if needed, it's a lot easier to experiment there.

green just got buttfucked but I guess this is a good compromise, it's either something like this or kneecap ramp in general

I have no problem with cat decks but the bitch about the cat meta is it's so clunky in arena

It's not too hard to interact with those decks with a control deck or to just clock them with fast aggressive strategies though. If you're going to durdle with a midrange strategy with no disruption you'll have a bad time though which is reasonable.

The rec decks? I feel like it's a reasonable over the top deck and is a reasonable part of the metagame now that there's no stupid veil of summer. I'm kind of curious how it all shakes out over the next couple of weeks. A lot of the top streamers were playing it for the Twitch Rivals event just now.

The meta shift period is my fav time to play magic. BO3 Standard while the meta isnt set is the funnest form of mtg.

May want like a blue castle in that mana base. Maybe in the one of the Field slots. Seems like a reasonable place to start if this is the kind of thing you want to run.

lol i'm not playing it but there are about 10 variations of nexus decks, almost all with oko, some with reclamation some with nissa some with fotd out their, it's pretty hilarious
