Get the fuck out! I had no idea.

Please, please, please don't let them fuck this up. Apple, so there's a chance it is ok.

Really satisfied with Skarsgard in that pic too. He looks like he is uncomfortable just like Murderbot was.

I really hope they can pull this off. The cover of the SubPress version of Murderbot Diaries is a cool illustration of Sec Unit. I flipped through the illustrations of the other books and didn't see any other full body concept of what he looks like with or without his armor.

There's a nice collection of the short stories available on Amazon for $40 as well. These four were collected together in the "Murderbot Diaries" book.
"Network Effect" and "System Collapse" are full standalone books, and "Fugitive Telemetry" is another short story that occurs between the two novels. Eventually I guess that'll be grouped up with other short stories into a second collection.

There was aslo a good article with the author of the series in Wired. And some college graduation speech she gave a while back that I read. Anyways, they give some insights in to the creation of Murderbot. It'll be interesting to see how approach him in the show. Sec Unit really doesn't like his helmet off but can't imagine them not showing Skarsgard's face 90% of the time.

The books are super fun. This could be great. Cautiously stoked.

Sec Unit really doesn't like his helmet off but can't imagine them not showing Skarsgard's face 90% of the time.

It worked for The Mandalorian. Alternatively maybe they could have some sort of "Iron Man helmet" deal where his internal monologue is done with face.

This is a good article with Tommy Arnold who has done a lot of artwork for various SciFi and Fantasy projects. He’s done Magic Cards (Soren, Vengeful Bloodlord), Video Games box art (Shattered Space), and Books (Abhorsen, Locked Tomb, Blade Itself).

He did the artwork for the Murderbot versions above and was contracted by Apple to do the concept work for the TV series too. They don’t really get in to the show concept until way down in the interview. Anyways, thought it was interesting and relevant to the show.

I’m more excited about seeing The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon!

Tone seems a little too quirky, but that could just be the trailer. We’ll see. Looking forward to it.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes. Neurotic Murderbot is enjoyable.

How is it compared to the novellas? I’ve read the first six. After I finished Chapterhouse Dune I’m gonna knock out book 7.

im super apprehensive about an adaptation tbh. I heard Apple fucked up Foundation. I almost never watch book to movie adaptations for this reason. Dune Part 1 was an amazing adaptation but Part 2 was really disappointing. So. It’s hit or miss.

Great start. Only complaint is the episodes are too short at 30 minutes.

I wasn’t able to watch the 1st two yet unfortunately, maybe today during kiddo nap time. Really excited though.

To celebrate the release of the show the artist that did the work for the SubPress books has released a couple more prints for sale on his site:

Seems pretty good so far. The opening is way out of line with the books, but it's probably a fakeout given what happens later.

Show murderbot is visually more terminator than robocop, probably because they wanted more Skarsgaard nudity.
