The idea that had he drank more Gatorade during the game he would have been fine is just as dumb though. He cramped up. It's happened with him before. It's not something you can play though. There is no reason to rag on him

Funny to think that lebron being carried off like that will likely become one of the iconic moments of his career, especially if they lose this series.

"There is no athlete on the planet who could've played through those cramps," [Isiah]Thomas told Yahoo Sports. "Michael Jordan absolutely couldn't have played through those cramps. I absolutely couldn't have played through those cramps. As an athlete, there's nothing you could do."

He also basically got fucked by the trainer giving him the wrong stuff which caused the cramps. This wasn't caused by M.J.

He came back in and finished the game with the cramps. He was only about for about a minute of game time
didn't read the whole thing did ya?

Now, we know exactly what you're going to say after reading that excerpt: "MJ CAME BACK AND ACTUALLY PLAYED IN THE GAME DESPITE THE CRAMPS!" But it is worth noting that it was MJ's stomach and not his legs that were bothering him. And if his legs had been the problem, those two paragraphs above prove that he, too, probably would have been forced to sit out and miss the end of an NBA Finals game.

So the trainer gave him different stuff than the rest of the team?
It sounds like they were all suffering because of it. This is also a completely different situation. Jordan's cramping was the kind you'd get if you ate a huge meal and then decided to immediately go for a run.

Lebron's cramping from an electrolyte issue would mean him trying to play through out would have almost certainly hurt his team as he wobbled around in intense pain. I imagine if he at least made an effort to get into the play he wouldn't have got nearly the shit for it that he did. It would just be the Lebron haters that will attack him regardless.

Not just immense pain. Trying to play through muscle cramps can lead to a tearing of the muscle.
