James Harden played defense tonight. I saw it, it happened and I didn't imagine it!
He's actually played okay defense all season apparently. I don't know because watching them do nothing but shoot threes and drive to get fouled is like watching paint dry and I won't do it.

Yeah, for the first time in his career his +/- stats are in the positive on the defensive side of the ball and it makes a huge difference for him considering they were always really negative. He's so gifted offensively he was always a + player, but just a little effort to not be horrible on defense and he's jumped into the top 5 discussion for most advanced metrics. Steph Curry still blowing everyone away though.

I seriously have trouble watching the league right now. Steph blowing away the competition for league MVP (yay Jonny Flynn). Cousins a top 5 center (yay Wes Johnson). I don't hate the Wolve's core. Rubio/Wiggins/Dieng/Shabazz/Bennett/LaVine. All of those guys show promise and are all really young. There's not a ton of superstar potential there outside of Wiggins and a long shot with LaVine, but they all should be decent players. I just don't trust Flip to do anything and it sucks because he's going to be the GM of the team forever.

My only joy right now is watching wide open Kevin Love call for the ball while Kyrie jacks up contested 18 footers off the dribble. Brings a smile to my face every time.

Lost in all the NFL season ending hysterics was the fact that Cleveland got fucking stomped...by the Pistons.

I think this is Bron Bron's last year enjoying "best basketball player in the world" status. Not that he is going to fall of a cliff...but for the first time in a long time he seems mortal.

If only he had some decent players around him

I wonder how much he regrets the Love trade. Without it he could have leaned on the "young and building " card.

Hey guys...did you know that the Raptors have the best recordin the East?

Just wondering if you all realized since you're still talking about the Cavs who are 5th in the East. (Raptors, at 9-2, have the best record against the West, btw.)

The Raptors are having troubles with the bigger teams that can destroy them on the boards, for sure. Their best lineup against those teams is going to be with James Johnson at the 3 and giving Hayes/Hansborough bigger minutes than normal, but Casey seems really hesitant to change up his bench rotation from game to game. Hell, he was starting Fields until he got a concussion just so he wouldn't have to mess with the bench.

James Johnson at the 3 lets Ross be more free on offense. Ross is starting to frustrate me and I think I'd keep Johnson starting and bring Ross off the bench when DeRozan comes back if it was up to me. That's a tough decision to make, though, as it takes a 3-point threat off the court and may mean more congested lanes for DeMar and Valanciunas. I like Ross, but he's a liability against bigger wings and his reluctance to drive to the hoop drives me nuts.

Bulls scare me more than any other team in the East this year, simply because I think Noah would dominate the glass in a 7-game series. The Raptors are good at a lot of things this year, but rebounding is not one of them.

You all are still just playing for second place anyway.

Edit: I can't talk. I'd take playing for 16th place.

Holy shit Warriors. That offense. Good for Draymond getting his first triple-double. He's gonna get some serious cash after this season.

Despite the final score being a 20 point win, that was an entertaining game. I think Casey out-thought himself by leaving JV on the bench, though. He had 8 points in 11 minutes...it wasn't his fault GS shot 70+% in the first quarter. Yeah, we made our run with the Greivis/Williams/Lowry lineup, but that doesn't mean it's going to work the rest of the game. Anyway, good game!

Draymond would be crazy to leave Golden State. I swear I haven't seen him take a contested three all year, he's always wide open.

He's a role player, he should take the biggest offer he gets. That said, he's been an exceptional role player this year, seems to be a huge leader for the team, and I hope they match whatever offer he signs if it comes to that. It has to be the #1 off season priority at this point. It might put them into the luxury tax for a year, but a year after that Lee comes off the books and the new cap should blow things open.
