12-8-4-1.5-1.5 with good percentages in 34 minutes a game is not a role player. It's a well above average starter. He's been the third best player on the team.

Role player doesn't necessarily mean he's not good. Like I said, he's been an exceptional role player, but his primary task is still to do the dirty work. Play tough D, board, and yeah knock down an open shot if the D leaves him open. For example, Rodman was a role player, no? Elite one, but still a role player.

The Warriors are looking forward to getting that Iguodala money off the books more than anything else.

Cavs have a shoot first point guard and chemistry issues. LETS GO GET JR. This has been a strange season.

Sources: JR Smith and Shumpert to Cavs: Dion Waiters to OKC; Lance Thomas from OKC to Knicks; Lou Amundson/Alex Kirk from Cavs to knicks

OKC giving up a future first and a non-guaranteed for Waiters? Yes please. Even if the guy was a terrible pick for Cleveland.

I've been saying for almost a year that Waiters and Irving don't get along and that Waiters wouldn't be there long. I thought they'd deal him in the offseason, but it's not really a surprise. They'll probably start Shumpert and bring JR off the bench as a 6th man. Well, that's what I would do, so I'm sure they'll start JR instead.

Nice upgrade for OKC. Let's see if he'll embrace the old Harden role there.

Seems like a decent haul for everyone involved. NYK get some capspace and a pick+rookie. Cleveland gets a wing defender and a 6th man. And OKC improves their weakest position - maybe? But at a minimal cost eitherway.

And I can't wait for Waiters to say he's better than WB and KD.

Someone in another thread mentioned that the greatest European player of all time just passed another milestone.

Gratz Dirk for 7th place all time scoring.

I don't think you OKC guys realize how terrible Waiters is at playing in a functional offense. If good basketball is a religion he's a goddamn heathen.

Every player in this deal is horrible. Props to the Knicks for cap relief.

Good news, OKC doesn't run a functional offense.

Until he gets hurt. Still, an injured Lopez would be an upgrade over a healthy Perkins on that team.
