His passing is not bad tooSteph with 53 on 27 shots. Dare I say he's been looking like he's taken it up another notch..
After the Lakers' latest loss, Bryant didn't try to make excuses for his slow start. He even went so far as to say he's "playing like s--t," "freaking sucks right now" and is the "200th-best player in the NBA.
Helps when Green is shooting like 1 for 8 or something so far!Grizz were up on us 22-21 after the first quarter... it's now 88-44 near the end of the third
He will probably be a 3. My hope is we get the 1st pick and lakers fall to 4-6 range. Worst case is we trade but who knows what the draft will look like by the end of the tournament. I'd be ok with something like this.Ford Mock Draft 1.0: Sixers Land Simmons, Murray and More - Liberty BallersIs Saric projected to play PF or SF in the NBA? I almost think you'd want that pick to slip to next year given how PG heavy the top of that draft is supposed to be. Things obviously change between now and the draft, but we're looking at another big men heavy draft. We'll see how great Simmons is. Maybe he's that type of can't miss prospect you're happy with regardless of roster makeup, but as it stands the top end 2016 draft talent are all big guys.
Eh, I'll defend Barnes since Slaythe used to talk shit about him saying that he was a terrible basketball player and would never be a quality NBA player blah blah blah.. too lazy to dig it up, but it was a lot more negative than he deserved. He hasn't lived up to his high school hype of course but he's a decent player. Barnes isn't going to be an all-star anytime soon, but he's a solid contributing starter on what still looks like the best team in the league. His versatility is what gives him value; you can't find many guys that can legitimately guard 1-4 at times, knock down open threes, finish around the rim, and rebound. I am disappointed in him that he turned down their generous extension offer (if he has a bad season one could look back and say they dodged a bullet, but you don't hope for that.) That says he wants more of a role, maybe elsewhere, but we'll see. At the end of the season they'll probably either match Barnes or Ezeli (who is playing pretty damn well early on), but not both.I don't think you'll find any Warriors fan defending Barnes. He probably won't be a Warrior next year.
No, he shot 44% FG's in his first season and then regressed to 40% when they brought in Iguodala to start for him the next year. Que a new, real basketball coach heading into last season and he rebounded just as I thought he might. He was never a terrible defender, and played pretty much on par with how one might expect a 20, 21 year-old wing whose forte is not D to play that end of the court. Wiggins may be a little better because of his length but I'm guessing overall he's not a stellar defender at this point either?I won't deny anything I've ever said about him. Through 160 games he was shooting near 40% from the field and playing bottom of the league level defense. He turned that around completely last year. 48% from the field, 40% from 3, 6 boards, 3 assists, above average defense. He's a good player now and I never saw it coming. Mostly because that sort of thing just doesn't happen often. Not many players start their careers as bad as he did and rebound into productive starters.
The point was just that high school recruiting stock doesn't mean everything and I'm going to wait to see Simmons play in college before making any real judgement on him. The hype is at pretty extreme levels already though.
He shot 42% through two seasons which is what I said. Wiggins get to line 3x as much. If you don't understand the importance that has on efficiency I don't know what to tell you. Advanced plus minus doesn't like either of them in their first seasons, but Harrison was worse. Barnes wasn't a good player through 2 seasons. Then he turned into a really decent one.No, he shot 44% FG's in his first season and then regressed to 40% when they brought in Iguodala to start for him the next year. I find it funny you're using FG% to shoot him down while at the same time saying Wiggins is an example of one of these high school stars who will live up to his hype and using Barnes as an example of one that didn't, yet Barnes and Wiggins FG% was pretty much the same in their respective first seasons. I don't care about past hype on Barnes; he helped us win a title and still has room to improve some. I think Wiggins for sure has a better shot to be that guy, but it's far from a given that he will live up to the hype as well. I hope he does, cause Minny deserves it and it's going to be interesting to see that team evolve over the next few years.
