How can you look at that play and not think he did that on purpose? Both guys are moving away from the ball. Love clearly can't get to the ball since he has his arm in that lock. Olynyk pulls his arm anyway when it's clear the Celts' would grab the loose ball.

Guys, try to actually think a moment and not act like blubbering retards. They were scrumming and Olynyk pulled his arm and held him back on purpose. No shit. He fouled him. He was even probably frustrated and acting out like a bitch. That doesn't mean he was intentionally, maliciously trying to pull his arm out of the socket. For fuck sake try to separate the two. I agree with you. He was very intentionally trying to keep love away from the ball by holding him. He wasn't trying to injure the guy. But does that matter?
Intention has nothing to do with flagrant fouls. It doesn't matter if it was an accident. He pulled the guys fucking shoulder out of socket. It should have been a flagrant 2 and it could be a suspension.
Continue this debate on if Olynyk meant it or not then go read the rule book. Fans seem to think the difference between a flagrant 1 and 2 is intent. That's a lie. A flagrant 2 is just excessive and unnecessary contact. This obviously was. At a minimum he should have been ejected.

I wouldn't have pitched a fit if they gave a flagrant 2. I've seen less be given tech. I'm just sick of retarded Cavs fans trying to act like a) He was intentionally trying to injure Love for some nefarious reason and b) justifying the fucked up, dirty plays later in the games by Cav players. In fact, you're right a tech may have been in order, just because it was excessive contact. I also think it's a slippery slope to punish based on reaction and/or injury, though. The league does that too often when a guy gets fouled and falls bad, they'll call a T, whereas very similar plays if the guy falls and pops right back up it's a common foul. NBA refs are shit, though, so shrug.
I think the way the refs interpret technical fouls, that intent is one of their factors, though. Whether it should be or not doesn't change the fact they add that into the equation.
The definitions for techs is dumb anyway:

Intent does plays a role and it's related to the contact being necessary or not. If you hit someone hard while going for the ball then it's just a hard foul. If you foul someone hard with no reasonable attempt on the ball then it's a flagrant foul.

Thanks...they haven't been very good since the All-Star break, but getting swept is just embarrassing. Casey needs to go...he's too stubborn and refuses (or doesn't have the ability) to adjust his schemes to his personnel. Even ignoring everything else...it's hurting Valanciunas's development which is unacceptable. They never changed their strategy in this series, trying to trap Wall only to leave Beal/Pierce/Porter/Gooden open to knock down 3s. He only put James Johnson in for one stretch of Game 2 after the fan backlash was so great after Game 1...then we never saw him in Washington (unless he was in during garbage time...I started watching Extreme Rules during the 4th quarter). It's really bad when Whitman outcoaches you. I have to put my faith in Ujiri being smart enough to fix this and not hire someone like Scott Brooks.
I know Lowry was coming back from an injury, but watching him constantly in foul trouble and arguing with the refs has made me lose a bit of respect for him. Never been a huge DeRozan guy and this whole season I was biting my tongue about Lou Williams because I knew we needed his scoring off the bench, but I felt like it set a bad precedent on offense. Which it did...the team stopped passing the ball like early in the season and everyone thought they could come down and chuck up the ball whenever they were "feeling it".
So I don't know where I want them to go from here. I probably let Williams go, because I don't want to pay him as much as he'll probably get for winning 6th Man of the Year. I fire Casey, but I have no idea who I'd replace him with...I don't follow college enough to have opinions on those guys. I definitely don't want Brooks or Mark Jackson, though. It needs to be someone that realizes Valanciunas is good and Ross isn't, though.
Alright...I think I'm done venting. I'm officially rooting for the Clippers now, by the way. And anyone except the Cavs in the East.

Iverson was the best, I miss watching him. To this day he's the most impressive athlete I've ever seen live, in his prime he was just relentless. His balance, quickness, and speed was jaw-dropping in person.

Djay, Hoiberg from ISU and Sean Miller from Arizona are the two big college names waiting to jump to the next level (along with the Billie Donovan rumors that are always out there I guess). I went to ISU and Hoiberg has turned our basketball team from a lucky team every few years to one that expects to be tourney bound, as a decent seed, every single year. I hope he never leaves. That isn't likely. The NBA can just pay so much more but it'll be a real bittersweet day for me when he makes that jump.
I expect him to have success in the NBA. He stresses the value of the 3 pointer and plays a fluid, uptempo offensive that mainly looks to exploit mismatches. It's very pro style.
I'm not sure either of these guys make the jump this year, but there are a couple assistants out there too. Just look at what Budenholzer did for the Hawks and everyone knew for years he was going to be a great coach once someone finally was able to pry him away from the Spurs. There's a dude in Atlanta, Atkinson, who was retained by Budenholzer when he took over that has a ton of buzz around him. He'll have a job someplace before too long.
As far as previous head coaches go, I think most of them are past their prime or overrated, but I have no clue why the Kings suddenly let go of Mike Malone after the early season success he had with that awful roster. He even had DMC playing defense and not taking 18 foot jumpers. I feel like he deserves a real chance someplace that won't fire you after going 11 and 13 on a bad team (9-6 before Cousins got sick).

I've never seen a person almost single handedly win an NBA Championship. He went up against a brick wall that was the Lakers, but come on. He NEVER had ANY fucking talent surrounding him, he was a one man show on the Sixers.

Yeah. I know. And I remember watching that series. The step over Tyronne Lue and everything. AI took 30 shots a game those playoffs and made 38% of them. I'd put more of the success on that team on Dikembe, and how much of a monster he was defensively even at 34, and Larry Brown's ability to get the most out of even his worst players. There weren't a lot of big names on that team, but they stacked really good defensive players around Iverson and just kind of let him do his thing. He doesn't get that far without that defense. 100% of the flash and a whole ton of the scoring came from him, but they were also a top 5 defensive team and that had a lot to do with their success. Also, look at the Eastern conference that year and the team's they beat to make the finals. A 35 year old Reggie in Indiana, a 7 game series against a similar team that had Vince and no one else and a 7 game series against the Bucks who had Allen but gave the most shots to Glenn Robinson, one of the most inefficient dudes to ever play the game.
Iverson will forever be one of the most entertaining players that ever played the game, but to me he's essentially Kobe without the rings. A selfish player that only ever approached being efficient by getting to the free throw line so much. And even then, it's hard for me to say that someone shooting 38% is doing anything to help their team win.
