Tristan Thompson is an OK player.

He can get you a double double, but he isnt going to change the Celtics in a way where they are markedly improved. The Celts have actually been pretty good over the last few years. NBA season is back before end of the year lol.
Yeah but Celtics really never had a championship player on their roster the last 5 years. Maybe if having a veteran type player in the mix can help Tatum and Brown stay focused if they feel the moment is too big for them during the playoffs. Plus Thompson brings that toxic masculinity the Celtics and Brad Stevens lacked for so long. Chad Thompson

Celtics have a really good all-around squad, but they need Tatum to take another "half" step up if they're gonna threaten for a title. Kid a stud, I just don't know if he is Top 5-7 player elite, maybe eventually. Also in fairness, the Heat have just a bit more offensive depth. Celtics did well last year, but the Heat were the better team.

Marc Gasol to the Lakers.

God, this league is just so corny with all the coattail riding nowadays...

TT was always frustrating to watch in the postseason. Dude demands a massive contract but he gets punked by guys making a third of his salary.

Does he help Boston against the top bigs in the East? Tristan is a liability against Giannis, Embiid, and even Myers Leonard. He makes far too much money to be sidelined as a liability against the top teams.

He's the equivalent of Dwight Howard but doesn't have that chip on his shoulder and takes away your cap flexibility.

Miami Heat pretty much punted on a shot at Giannis (they can still work a S&T, but it seems less likely). Supermax deadline is December 21st. We shall see! If he doesn't sign, I think it will be the Mavs.

Would be a mediocre team. A ton of athleticism and maximum rim protection, they would be a monstrous defensive squad, but you are going to eliminate all of that perimeter shooting? Duncan is maybe the best 3pt shooter in the NBA. Herro was also a great shooter as a rookie. Butler showed himself to be an elite player when he is rested and motivated, so him and Giannis alone would make the Heat interesting, but Bam, Butler and Giannis with some trail mix isnt enough to be a real contender IMO.

And yea Kyrie won a title and hit that big time shot, but he was a drag in Boston. He acted like a little bitch and was basically a liability towards the end. Its sad that IT fucked up his hip, if he would have stayed healthy and signed a big contract with Boston, who knows where that team would be. If he would have kept up his All Star level play, and continued pouring in 30 pts a game damn near, they would have never signed Kyrie and could have had even more talent to go along with Tatum and Brown. (wouldnt have had to pay Kemba and probably wouldnt have signed Horford either) A healthy Thomas, Tatum, Brown and with the money they would have saved they could of gotten another major piece.

And Thompson is on the verge of being washed up. He maybe has 1 more solid season in him, he is one of those players that just fall off the face of the Earth once the arrow starts pointing in the wrong direction. Hell either have injury problems or get more and more out of shape and constantly be in foul trouble. Celtics might be a worse team this year than last tbh.

Tristan Thompson is like a more athletic Kendrick Perkins. That's not exactly a raving endorsement.

Hot take: Michael Jordan couldnt even manage a winning season without Scottie Pippen, nevermind a championship. Jordan needed Pippen to have success, without Pippen Jordan has 0 rings.

I dont actually believe that by the way, some dude on twitter posted it the other day and Jordan fans were going nuts, while haters posted a ton of Pippen stats etc. Was hilarious how mad people get.

LeBron james post season numbers are impressive as fuck when you look at it unbiased. Yea we understand the Finals losses. But he is the all time leader in post season scoring. All time leader in post season steals. 2nd all time in playoff assists. 4 finals mvps, averages 29 points per game in playoffs, 9 rebounds a game and 7 fucking assists (and almost 2 steals per). His post season accolades will be the one unassailable aspect of LeBrons legacy. You cant dispute how dominant he has been in the playoffs. He gets even better in post season in comparison to reg season.

Jordan is still better and will always be the GOAT, but LeBron has nothing left to prove IMO. he didnt have anything to prove after beating The Warriors in 2016.

Yeah, that's just dumb. But the other direction is equally dumb. Like he'd take 11 high school dudes and would have won 8 straight if he didn't go play AA baseball. Because people seem to forget that he did lose in the first round 3 times before Pippen.

I don't get the point of this trade for either team. What is Westbrook gonna do for Washington over a high draft pick at this point? Why would anyone want Wall lol?

It's a protected 2023 first round pick. So it can't be that good or even really very predictable. Westbrook is way better than Wall at this point, they can legit compete for a playoff spot in the East, even if they'd just get crushed in the first round probably.
