Started up a cleric last night but didn't have a lot of time to play around, got to level 9. A bit better gameplay than the GWF though but it's still early.
I find DC to be as fun as the healers in Vanguard were. The gameplay is similar to the disciple: lots of little heals and dots from damage dealing abilities.

I like the Cleric so far. It seems very AD&Dish and not as much of a pure healer as some MMOs tend to make them.

It seems there are a ton of new clerics on Mindflayer. Every other person shouting is one. I think I'll mess around with a Guardian Warrior or Wizard on one of the other two, unless there's a valid reason to stack characters on a single server.

The Man-at-arms served me well until the content outlevelled him (since he's limited to rank 15). He was able to grab and hold aggro very nicely while I killed things.

I still havent tried Castle Never yet. My experience in Tier 2 dungeons has been spotty at best and so would rather find consistent people to do stuff with before I head into what looks to be a beast of a dungeon.

The dire wolf is a badass after you unlock all his rune slots at 20, much better than the phoenix/black panther at least. He interrupts pretty regularly. I use him in parties.

He's not that great for a solo cleric though. The "best" solo companion for a cleric is probably the purple rock guy from Zen, or just the level 15 Cleric companion to throw some heals on you. The purple Angel is probably the actual best but 360 ardent coins means it's impossible to get.

Don't bother - Castle Never is fucking brutal in pugs. Got first boss down w/ guildies yesterday, but it was tough even with an organized group (albeit quite undergeared except for me). Funnily enough, the boss I have the most problems with in T2 is the last boss of Iceshard Caverns or whatever (Hminir?). Pugs just can't pump out the deeps to burn him. The only times I've gotten him down are w/ 2 or 3 rogues, as the damage rogues pump out is so much better on burn fights than GWF/CW its laughable, especially when geared.

I havent done that one yet. So far it's spiders and mad dragon among a ton of pirates farming (due to knocking the trash off ledges making it a faster experience). I honestly think they messed up the hit point totals on some of the boss trash as many of the swarm adds have 5-10x the hit points of hallway trash.

Like most clerics I'm rocking the PvP set armor even though I don't PvP outside of the daily quest. The price in Glory is cheap as Hell and you can thus find it on the AH at a very affordable price. Problem is that the 4 pc set bonus is much stronger than the upgrade of any piece from tier 1 to 2. Did see a few tier 2 pieces drop, but in a PUG naturally I lost those to rogues .... I desperately need a regular guild. Even more painful is finishing s dungeon like Mad Dragon and getting tier 1 arms out if the chestw. Yeah...same piece as from freaking Cloak Tower. They got the tier 2 chests working, but they are still buggy.

Where are you guys at w/ Tradeskills, or even bothering? Would seem to at least be a trickle of free resources if you did just the minimum periodically?

What do you slot your wolf with?

Also, the cleric companion is the best companion for a cleric?
Clercis get a lot of aggro in dungeons where bosses constantly shit out adds. And our heals are 40% less effective on ourselves. Extra free healing helps. Man-at-arms is fine for soloing. The purple rock guy is better if you got the cash.

As a cleric I use the warrior tank pet mostly to save my own ass as most tanks and CW's don't pay too much attention to backspawns and heal aggro mobs. Everyone else in the party seems to use the cleric companion which helps and is probably where I get a good amount of the healing done on me from. Biggest problem in dungeons is lack of AE dps because everyone and their online girlfriend is playing a fucking rogue and they have shit for AE. CW's all like to single target DPS the bosses like they matter and GWF's are usually just awful.

If you want to make a lot of friends: play a GOOD CW or GWF. They're quite rare or in the latter's case non-existent.

Recovery, so he can use his knockdown faster.

I'm mostly tanking as a cleric, so yeah. The level 15 Man-At-Arms is fine until your around level 30, and then he can't keep aggro anymore on higher level mobs and becomes worthless.

GWFs are just boring to play which is why I'm losing interest in mine.
What do you find boring about GWF? I actually enjoy playing GWF more than the other classes, but I've been playing a GF just for the instant queues. Though I haven't tried a rogue yet, since it seems like half the players are rogues.

Don't bother playing. There is a GF bug that lets them one shot ANYTHING. Rare epics going up on the AH right now for 1/10th of their value yesterday, seeing legit pics of a GF who has known of the bug for a while now with 87 mil astrals. 1-2 day rollback very likely.

GWF is boring, to me, because it's all visual. It's essentially just two aoe attacks and the encounters are just different variations of swinging your sword for damage. They're probably awesome at 60 geared out, but they are a one trick pony to me.
