So who else loses their jobs this year?

AFC

Hue... gets a pass. He inherited a shit situation and they need time to build.

Bowles... probably gets a pass as well, despite going backwards. He'll need to show improvement over this year, maybe even make the playoffs, to keep his job after next year.

Pagano... I honestly wouldn't be surprised either way. If he does keep on then he's also on the hot seat next year, and even making the playoffs might not be enough if he also doesn't come through with at least one win.

Lewis... same as above. Losing Hue as OC forced a regression. He probably gets a year to get things back on track, and probably also win a playoff game, or else he's gone.

McCoy... gone. The team has regressed under him after that first promising year while the rest of the division has loaded up.

NFC

Fox... 50/50. Ownership may want a clean slate going forward since they won't be shackled to Cutler, but I could see them giving him one more year to see what can be done with Barkley.

Chip... he gets another year.

Arians... not going anywhere but that team has issues it needs to address if he's going to stick around much longer.

I'd say Mcarthy is no slam dunk to stay. I believe Pagano got an extension with Grigson, so those two are probably safe.

Caldwell is on the brink of being fired or getting cemented in depending on how the Lions' season ends.

A win over GB would make it easier to keep him for sure. He's clearly benefiting from having Jim Bob Cooter as OC, but they desperately need a run game. This one, I think, depends on where ownership sees things going. Stafford isn't getting any younger but he's gotten better under JBC. They may pull a Tampa Bay and fire Caldwell so they can keep JBC for the offense, then hire someone to shape the defensive side of the ball (FO has them as the worst in the league, yes even worse than Cleveland).

I think Caldwell should definitely stay. Agree with Moon that Jim Bob Cooter (yes, you have to type/say the full name every time it never gets old) deserves a lot of credit, but it's a team that is still overachieving in most people's eyes. Literally almost doing it with smoke and mirrors. Schedule kind of butt fucked them at the end here.

Marvin Lewis should probably get fired. I get that they lost Hue, but they lost Jay Gruden before that, still went to the playoffs and one and done. It's not so much this year he should get fired for, but his overall body of work. Losing Dalton last year was his pass, but they HAD to make playoffs and win a game this year. I think they're nuts if they keep him.

I think Fox will be there for 1 more year and year 4 will depend totally on the offense and if they hit with a QB in the draft. I don't think anyone in Chicago thinks Barkey is the guy of the future but if they can stud up the defense enough to cover for Barkely / Rookie QB he might not end up getting shit-canned. IMO the worst part about Fox getting fired is that Fangio would be let go as well I'd guess.

So I looked up jimbob cooter cause his name is awesome, and I saw this story.

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2016/12/29/zach-zenner-detroit-lions/95970322/

"I don’t think you can play a guy 70 snaps at running back," Cooter said. "So we were going to mix and match guys, guys were going to play different amounts of reps. I think Zenner probably got more reps in the first half. It’s not a sustainable strategy to play one guy every single snap at running back, in my opinion. So we weren’t going to do that."

Maybe I was wrong. They went away from the guy who was kicking our ass because .... he's thinking long term instead of winning now? Since he made a blanket statement, that no RB can play 70 snaps a game, I disgree with him. It could be that zenner can't handle it, but his statement didn't seem to be just about zenner.

Also, the lions have some of the best names in football. Zenner? Golden Tate? Mulligan?

You can't judge Chip Kelly too harshly, the 49ers are still recovering from that plane crash that killed 37 players a couple years back and academy award winning speeches only get you so far.

Maybe he will maybe he won't, you can repeat your retarded statements all you want it won't change that Manning only had neck surgeries in 2011 and started in the SB and finished last season. Won't change the fact that Favre switched teams in 2008 and 2009 and still balled out only to fall off the cliff in 2010.

Nothing Brady does or does not do will change your retarded fucking post, Joeboo had a well written and thought out post with facts to back up his statements, you have ignorant ass post that can be summed up with "nuh uh".

In other words, shut the fuck up.

Love how he never acknowledged this. What a dumbass. Talking with such confidence and being so wrong about pretty big things (Peyton as backup in last year's SB? Heh).

Not sure Bowles stays. His team turned in some really all around awful performances. It wasn't just the shitty QB situation. I think he's more likely than most of this list, even.

I just hope McCoy being fired actually happens. I am on the fence about Telesco. On one hand last years draft seems to have been solid. On the other hand...every previous year.

Of course you would, unfortunately for you and the other 30 Chargers fans you don't make the decisions. They have bigger concerns than a new head coach, like a city that actually wants them.
