Packers had the Bears and Vikes in the Lombardi era and the Vikes and Bears in the Favre era. They had a Favre led Vikings during the Rodgers run, but until this year it has been almost as easy as the AFCEast.

Steelers had the Jim Brown era Browns back in the day and the multiple SB winning Ravens in the modern era.

Aikman era Cowgirls had to deal with the Big Tuna led Giants and pretty strong Eagles team.

Niners had an easy as shit division, no question, and got ahead with the chop block in the pre-cap era.

Even the Roidhawks had the Cardinals and Niners, with the Fischer Troll job wins also in the mix.

The strongest competition that the Pats have had in their entire BB era has been Buttfumble and Rex Ryan., who are basically the only team that could even rub two playoff wins together during that stretch. Every other team (aside from San Fran) with lots of wins has faced down actual SB contenders and teams with recent SB appearances in their runs.

Having said all of that, you can have it handed to you in the NFL and not win the SB. The Bills had that shit division uncontested and blew four SBs. The Vikes, after Lombardi left GB, had zero competition and blew four SBs (soon to be five). The Chiefs dominated the AFC West during the 80s and could never make it past the championship game. Ditto Chargers in the 90s. The Pats deserve credit and respect for doing what they have, but I am not sure (as a Yiffer hater even) I would rate them above the Steelers when they did not have to fend off another SB winning team constantly.

But, Gronk or no Gronk, they are going to wreck whoever wins later today. Too much experience, depth, and ruthlessness. Vikes want to be that evil, but they are basically the diet coke of evil and not evil enough to take it to the next level. Eagles are still getting karmic payback for iceballing Santa Clause.

Vikes could only manage 16 points against a Huntley led Packer Defense at home and needed the worst defensive play of the decade to squeak past the Saints at home. Their homefield advantage is basically non existent and they are going to get bodied against the Evil Empire in two weeks, unless Brady steps on the same landmine in the field that made Bridgewater's knee explode.
