Was there any confirmation on DeSmith's injury? I wouldn't be shocked if he was just having some cramping issues given the game length, etc.

gah i'd love to go to a game during this series but all 3 games fall on work nights for me (I work Fri/Sat/Sun so Thurs is kind of out since it's a 5-6 hr drive back)

Nah I never take time off for games, 3 day work week is awesome for that. I usually try and go to Mon/Tues/Weds games because tickets are generally a lot cheaper.

I can't believe Canes/Bruins matchup was the "most likely upset" (from the articles I read). Like I get there were goaltending concerns, but Canes have never relied on good goaltending this year. Yea Anderson had a great year, but their D has a lot to do with that (really any great goalie has solid D behind him). Their sticks are too good, you aren't making the cross ice pass, you aren't stick handling past them, and they aren't giving you shit for shooting lanes. They don't give you any space in their zone. And god forbid you make a tiny mistake because their transition game is probably the best in the league. Oh not to mention the forecheck is also probably the best in the league.

I’ll admit (as a Canes fan) that I thought it would be a somewhat close series but nothing like some of these predictions. I understand the series isn’t over yet and it’s only two games but you had a lot of people favoring Boston (some even saying Boston preferred Carolina over Toronto) and it’s crazy. Like these people have obviously not watched how the Canes play. I read one article on the athletic that said we would have a problem due to Bostons defense without even mentioning the Canes defense. They only gave up the fewest goals in the league.

Its weird they still get underrated by national media simply due to where they play, completely ignoring how they play and it’s not like this is the 1st year of success either. You would think 116 pts, best defense and division champs matter.

The goalie situation is definitely not ideal but with the way they play I don’t think they are worried about it. Raanta is pretty good he just gets injured a lot and the kid seems to be holding his own so far. I still think there is a chance we may see Freddie in this series but with the way it’s going there is no need to rush.

Not sure why people would pick a team that got outscored 17-1 in the 3 game series they played in the regular season.

Our goaltending issue showed up tonight, although Samsonov came in and stopped everything he saw in the 3rd. Goalie decision coming up for us in Game 3.
