No buyer's remorse here. Was going to get it within a few months regardless for Prime 4, and now I don't need to worry about hunting one down.
My thoughts exactly. I think it's a little harder to justify buying this for people who already own a Switch OLED though.. I only had the original 2017 Switch so for me Switch 2 is a really big upgrade, it's both larger and lighter, and the games load much faster, plus I was going to play MKW on release anyway because both my wife and kid love it. I have DK Bananza already pre-ordered because it looks great and it should be fun to play a 3D open-world DK game, the last one was ages ago back on N64 and it was pretty great back then too.
As I got a PS5 recently, I feel like the PS5 and Switch have different uses for me. I'll play AAA games on the PS5 but for games with simpler graphics or that don't require a super high framerate, I'm fine playing them on Switch 2 because I like being able to play handheld even at home. Plus there's the actual Nintendo properties that I'll play like Metroid, DK, the inevitable Mario games, and maybe a Zelda game or two (the smaller ones like Echoes of Wisdom or the remakes they made, not the huge ones like BotW/TotK that take 6 years to develop).
As for the outrage about the price of the games, I've seen them around 50/60 in most places, so again that's probably not going to be as big of an issue as anticipated. The only thing I don't like so far is the emphasis on digital games, I was disappointed to receive a code for MKW in my Switch 2 MKW bundle, I'd have prefered a physical box with the cartridge. And I've seen bullshit like the Split Fiction physical box having the slot for the cartridge filled with plastic and instead you get a code to download it, that's really lame.
MKW takes about a third of the Switch 2's storage, so I hope they'll hurry up releasing more 1TB SD Express cards and that the prices will go down relatively quickly, I don't like having to delete and redownload games later.
