I went to ours recently because the PSU I needed was in stock and it was real depressing. Like 20 sales associates on the floor just standing around. I was the ONLY customer in the store.

I feel this in most retail places, especially malls. It's like everything there is dead and they just don't know it yet.

So I picked one up because fuck it why not, can’t pc game these days with sub 2 year old twins and Xbox isn’t much easier.

I’d be pissed as a kid with how slow this thing downloads games and everything seems to be a download.

that being said, the shop performs a lot better than my switch ever did (it was painfully slow), however everything takes so many steps to do.

go to virtual carts, choose who is using the cart (I’m the only user on the switch…why am I choosing this?), select the cart, go back to the switch main menu, go back to virtual carts…it’s just so much clicking around menus. I guess it won’t be a problem once all my stuff is loaded but damn it’s annoying.

breath of the wild runs real nice though!

Last BOTW i did was a no teleport playthrough, all divine beasts and all shrines…it was actually quite fun…

What type for this one? Not just a speed run

We used to wait several minutes every time you zoned in Pools of Radiance and had to change the floppy disc. We used to wash the dishes and fold laundry while it was loading. Sometimes you’d have to do another disc after a few steps depending on the zone lines. Fucking kids these days don’t even know what load time pain is!

Come on, Pauline's hips have got it going on. I'm not sure about her giant head though.

Whatever you do, don't buy the overpriced "new versions" of BOTW and TOTK. Just pay the $10 to patch your old copies. Not sure why they're even selling the new versions like it's some sort of new remaster.

The new versions improve the framerate substantially, and the draw distance is better (structures at the mid-range of distance won't be blurry) but they aren't that impressive. I've seen BOTW look WAY nicer on emulation.

That said, even just as a $10 framerate patch, they did okay with this. I'd gladly pay $10 for a Bloodborne framerate patch, for example.

Mario Kart 9 didn't take long to wrap up the single-player content for, looking for something else to do. Could try to 100% Mario Odyssey (only 3D Mario I didn't 100%) but I don't even know what 100%ing that game looks like. Getting all the moons seems kind of ridiculous if there are really like 900 of them. I've got a couple of worlds I didn't even touch, though, when I initially beat the game with 150 or so moons. Mario Odyssey looks really nice on the Switch 2 (with a free patch, which is a plus) but I don't even know where to start with it. I guess just keep collecting moons until it stops being fun?

I got the buy invite from Nintendo. Wasn't sure if I should order it. Decided to get it since I will want it anyway and I don't have to run around to get it.

I haven't finished the second Zelda. Will give me a reason to put the hours into it.

I think collecting all of the moons is insane, but you could do the Dark Side and Darker Side of the Moon if you haven't yet. I think you need 250 and 500 moons respectively to unlock those sections, but it's something if you want more content in the game.

Are those the "ultimate" levels? Every 3D Mario has some ultimate challenge once you get all the stars (well, all of the games after a certain point).

If so, then it sounds like 500 moons might be the "finish line" for a completionist playthrough. From what I've read, getting all the moons is this ridiculous task that isn't worth it.
