He doesn't look the part but if he can act...ehh. The biggest problem with Bond for a while isn't the actor but the scripts. This guy could be Elba levels but with a terrible script, which is likely, he'll fail fast. His suit looks like shit too, so he needs a handler.
at least it distracts you from the pozload loving cameraman behind him. what kind of shit is he wearing with those tight little short trousers and is that a ribbon in his hair? i bet he just got back from his monkeypox vacation.

Maybe not; I know I am in the minority here, but one of the most intricate and intelligent Bond movies, The Living Daylights, was universally panned. But it was a plot that was closer to Jean LeCarre than any other Bond. And yeah, I really like/liked it. Fans and reviewers hate it.

Bond films tend to age more poorly, no matter what; but recent Bond films are trendy garbage. Horrible crap that would be elevated IF they were cheesy!

I think they're sunglasses.

If I had to toss out a black actor who I think would make a convincing Bond I'd probably go with David Oyelowo.

Obviously there's also Chiwetel Ejiofor as well but he's fairly mainstream now and they tend to go for less popular actors.

Oddly, I think the biggest problem will be finding a black actor willing to play Bond. He kind of represents an establishment that isn't exactly viewed highly by many British POC.

Seems like each phase of Bond has diminishing returns.

1st Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig movies were excellent, then they gradually got worse.

Roger Moore has several great early movies but the later ones are ridiculous.

Only Sean Connery seemed to have a consistently good run.

I'll start off by saying I like Pierce brosnan's Bond and I agree his first one was the best, but I think in my case that's probably because it has an amazing f****** video game. Without that, I probably wouldn't remember s*** about that movie

Pierce Brosnan was supposed to be Roger Moore's replacement for Bond, but he had just signed a contract to play a similar role on TV called Remington Steele.
the network wasnt letting go of him, so Timothy Dalton got the job instead. Brosnan was made to play Bond. Timothy Dalton would be a MUCH better Bond villain or villain in general. he is an excellent baddie.

Roger Moore was my favorite Bond, even though i was a huge fan of Sean Connery as an actor. Moore's Bond was so damned silly and corny , purists fucking hated him, but little boy Chuk ate it up. as i grew up, i learned to appreciate Connery's bond a bit more. dude was all about slaying prime pussy and who can blame him for that?

I got to see a pre-release screening for this one. Got a little Corgi Lotus that shot bullets at the screening too. Guess I am just plain old lucky that I didn't lose both eyes and choke on the little bullets it shot from the back part.

I thought Spy Who Loved me represented the pinnacle of what a Bond movie should be. Great chases, hot girls, cool gadgets, risky stunts, unique villians and an end-of-the-world crisis. It vacillated well between corny and serious. Not too many hit all those marks as solidly as that movie did. No CGI either...

I grew up in the Connery-to-Moore transition era. While they all seemed to have some cool moments, my all-time favorite was For Your Eyes Only. Some of those scenes/stunts were pretty epic back then. Loved the one of him being chased downhill on skiis before executing a perfect 360 aerial helicopter that knocks the bad guy's gun out of his hands, just before skiing a bobsled track. Total Bond moment!

That is until Brosnan and Golden Eye came along. To me, Brosnan was the absolute epitome of what Bond should look and act like. Plus, that opening scene was another classic Bond moment.

Hated the Dalton era. Totally forgettable.

As for Daniel Craig, I wasn't a fan when he was first announced but Casino Royale changed my mind about him. Great flick!

Wat? John Boyega is a blm jogger, but he doesn't have the bond credentials to begin with

Everything or Nothing is my favorite Bond flick.

Oh wait, it's my favorite Bond theme.

Oh, hang on, it's my favorite Bond GAME...

It kind of was it's own Bond film-- way better than most and it was a video game! I think Goldeneye gets way too much boost as a movie because of its game. Everything or Nothing should have gone retrograde and been made into a film. It was solid all the way around; plot, villains, actors, love interests, the whole Bond formula, but it never made it to celluloid.

I haven't played the game and the film is still one of the best.

Goldeneye is the best Brosnan era Bond and was my favorite until Casino Royale dethroned it.
