HDR 600 sounds useless on an IPS panel. Does it have local dimming? If so how many zones?

The HDR 600 on my Odyssey G7 is okay. Even though it’s a VA panel, I find the contrast is not high enough to maintain decent black levels at high brightness.

Too fucking small. Pass - why do people still purchase and/or manufacture such tiny monitors, when OLEDS in smaller sizes and 34-38" UW monitors are readily available and affordable. I don't understand it, and the jump from my 1440p GSYNC 27" to my 34" UW is much bigger I'd argue than the jump from 1080p -> 1440p. It completely changes the way the game feels.

27 inches is only good enough to open my youtube browser - after i made the jump to 34 i cant imagine going smaller than that ever again -

yeah im really happy with my 2 year old alienware dw3814 gsync 120hz IPS monitor except it doesn't do HDR, something like this is also really nice

$899 www.amazon.com/Samsung-Double-49-Inch-Monitor-LC49RG90SSNXZA/dp/B07L9HCJ2V

49" 5120x1440 120hz HDR1000 but is a VA panel, not IPS (or OLED). The LG for $800 is also pretty good, gSync IPS 34" 160hz but sadly HDR400.

I have my LG OLED 65 hooked up as my movies/TV screen, not sure I'd really want to use a 43" OLED as a main screen.

Yall must only play 4x and movies. I cant imagine a fps on such large screens. I already can miss things if im focused on the opposite side of the screen.

I've got a G9. I love it, but it's not for everyone, and some of the implementation of things like HDR leaves things to be desired (because it's an edge-lit VA panel?) but I've gotten used to it and/or Windows 11 handles it a little better.

It takes some getting used to and it's not for everybody.

How you liking Windows 11? I'm one of those people that likes getting in early and testing the waters even if its got some bugs. Is it good enough for youtube watching/gaming?

Auto-HDR is awesome, and in general I've had no problems with W11.

If I had an office space where I could mount a monitor above vs. alongside, I'd definitely switch. Problem is, the way my office is setup, dual 27s is how it do.

Sadly if I was aiming for HDR I'd probably go with the LG OLED..C1? Think good HDR monitors are overpriced for what they offer.

There's a new one coming out this year with mini-LED for lighting.

Nice monitor but for me it’s strictly ultra wide. Ultra wide or go home. Girth for life.
