It's fairly subtle but web compression probably isn't helping.

Here's another of Frodo, the hair detail is a little better. 6x upscaled with Gigapixel on the left, original on right. Smoother skin tones at 6x but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. These aren't massive improvements but this is gigapixel so ezmode, if I had a decent card for ESRGAN it could look better, some people have done amazing work restoring old videos. There's also an app called DAIN that lets you increase the FPS of videos by interpolating frames that should play in between existing ones, so you can boost a 30 fps to 60ps or 120 if you want. I used it on a small 3 min video and it worked amazingly well going from 30 to 60.

You should use your skills to make a CFD model run faster than real time, or maybe see how with works with porn...for science...something really useful. You know?

No, as I understand it they have to re-render all the CGI at 4K+ because they never thought that far ahead back then. That or they're waiting for the 20th anniversary on purpose, or maybe both.

I used to use gigpixel to upscale porn movies for empornium for their upscaling project and it wrecks every GPU under the sun. Before the video version I used to upscale every single frame in batches and it was a nightmare.

Software's amazing tho and the AI will just get better and better.
