Anyone have any guess at all as to when availability of the 3070/3080 will be increasing? Are we talking a month or two, or late summer? I posted in the desktop thread that I was originally looking to build a budget system, but now I'm leaning towards blowing up my budget and going with a 3070 or 3080 if I can subsidize some of the cost with mining. I could buy a prebuilt from a place like cyberpower for like $1500 with a 3700x/3070, or get a MSI Aegis with a 10700kf and a 3080 for $2,200 (seems high). That is literally it as far as a system I can pick up in the next month. I'd prefer to just build, but that just doesn't look like it will be happening unless I get in on one of these best buy drops.....

Anyone doing any mining with their 3070? I did look at that alienware, but it looks like they ran out of liquid cooling upgrade options, and the proprietary 3070 design is kind of a turn off.

Scalper sense tingles! - That aside Alienware is notorious for using special variants of cards that usually suck a fat one but still a 3070 is a 3070 ya know?

5 months or so - in time for the refresh?

You can build a 5600x 3070 for less than 2k really if you live near Microcenter - i sold a 3600 w/ 3060ti for 1800 myself a month ago - thinking to build a 5600x w/ 3070 tomorrow and see what i can get for it.

I mean the 3700x is still a $329 cpu so that Alienware seems like a good deal even if you're getting shitty ram/mb/case/psu lol. I'm considering it.

I don't have a microcenter close, but I do have relatives/friends near one. I've been looking for a week and have not seen a single 3070/3080 in stock at the three I've been looking at.

Typically you have to go line up before opening to get one and they're probably never listed on the site. I've had a friend get a 3080 and a 3070 doing that.
