Finished season 2, excellent show. I love how unapologetic they are about aligning to the manga. Smoker with two giant cigars is a great example of them embracing the source material and making it work.

I was never into One Piece, was more of Naruto kid myself back then, but this show is pretty solid, feels like they're trying to stick to the source material and to the typical shonen fight for your dreams and your friends thing, but doing it unapologetically. the actors are solid too

Finished the season - was good. The show has a paradoxical mix of not taking itself too seriously, but many of the actors still put their all into it. Wasn't expecting that Chopper backstory episode - Zoro must have been chopping onions somewhere nearby

I'm just hoping this doesnt take 3 years again, at least knight of the seven kingdoms is going to be released every year at the same time, Landman and Reacher are fairly quick also

Yeah. The actors aren't children but they still have a limited amount of time if they want to move the story forward. We don't need a middle aged Luffy finding the one piece.

Never read the manga or watched the anime (always thought it looked too zany for me), but this show hit the right spot. Just binged both S1 and S2, it has been excellent. That said, One Piece is an enormous story, and I don't know how you could hope to cover it all in live action before everyone just gets too damn old (unlike anime where there is no physical character aging).

The "Am I Enough" song as the end of S2 was pretty good too.

Man youre alive? maybe I browse the wrong threads, been a while since I noticed your name 🧐.

I've got a bunch of people to watch this and no complaints and it was like pulling teeth at first, I really want to actually rewatch it just because the cast ect are so much fun.

I get a crack out of that whenever I see it. One Piece does have excellent character design. Just the right amount of silliness and they're all pretty creative.

Seems they are still nailing the casting, Xolo from Cobra Kai/bluebeetle is going to be playing his brother Ace

As for timing, from what I hear they're already filming the next season, so hopefully they're realizing these multi-year gaps don't work well when you have flesh and blood actors.

That is correct. Season 3 of One Piece started filming in late November 2025 and is expected to run until around mid 2026. After that, it’ll go into a long post-production phase since the show is very VFX heavy, which likely pushes the release well into 2027.
That said, there are rumors that Seasons 4 and 5 could be filmed back to back to shorten the gaps and potentially move toward a yearly release schedule, but that’s not official at this point, especially since Season 4 hasn’t even been greenlit yet.

I'm pretty far into the cartoon now, going to be interesting how they pull off sky island which i actually enjoyed a lot more than the Crocodile/arabasta story. Also I like how Robin is more grounded and doesn't have freakouts or whatever you call it like every other character
