Reading between the lines, it strikes me as a “OW2 isn’t meeting our expectations, so we’re going to scavenge content from the pve side to bring people back and use those existing assets”.
It sucks because they could have made an Overwatch version of Destiny but instead we will probably just get the mini maps like the Anniversary events have been in the past

that's what you eventually get when you keep hiring pronouns. NOTHING. They basically have no one left to develop the game. Any of their games. All, and I mean all, they actual talent has left. As proof just look at the last raid tier in wow was pathetic. This is what they have done right in the past but they can't even do that any more. 7-8 minute final boss which was a dance fight. The whole tier lasting half the reset (deducting like 2 days of splits). The final cinematic was not only cringe but so fucking pathetic that it was probably put together by some 1st year temp. Most bosses were undertuned for world first race. They even went in and buffed the 2 last bosses before Liquid and Echo had reached those. Ok, they buffed some avoidable damage mechanics to prevent cheesing them but the fact that they had to do that speaks volumes.

lmao oh blizzard, time to clean your management out. Wasn't the pve suppose to be the selling point of Overwatch "2".

Don't be too hard on Blizzard, making videogames is really difficult. It's not like they are one of the top ten companies by revenue worldwide.

As a professional Blizzard watcher for 20 years, this is the information I have gleaned...
They pay below industry standard taking advantage of the goodwill of fanboys, causing a high turnover of critical staff from burnout/headhunting.
They have a bloated middle management structure based on seniority, causing glacial decision making and a culture of the managers knowing best.
They went all in on SJW issues, causing staff to work on diversity tools and replacing women with fruit, instead of actual profitable work.
They have an interfering and incompetent corporate level, causing a braindrain of top level creatives who get sick of it and go to work elsewhere. This predates Activision as they let go the Diablo 2 sub studio.
They had a rockstar culture amongst the senior staff which led to excesses like giant statues, Alliance/Horde motorbikes and the Cosby Suite. The fallout of this compounded the previous issues as they needed more managers to prevent a repeat and staff left in disgrace/disgust.
TLDR: The studio is full of garbage people struggling to maintain the beloved IPs created by competent people who left long ago.

Overwatch exists because they couldnt make an MMO Shooter fun, guess they couldnt make a small squad shooter fun either.
Now it's just "Overwatch, Too", where all that was added was more monetization. I assume the end of the OWL will be here any day now.
