I dont think its a coincidence she is a political campaign person by trade. All those people in that field have exceedingly overvalued opinions of their "skills".
Yeah she occasionally gets some simpletons to do what she wants (the rival casino owner, whose wife saw right through her) through manipulation, but most of the time she has to resort to assassination or other strong arm tactics when her attempts at coercion fail. I'm not sure what Navarro really sees in her unless he just wants to fuck her or something.

idk, I thought Skylar got way too much shit. Similarly, Wendy was a victim of Marty's scheming, at first. But now she's the one digging them deeper.

It will be interesting to see how they take it. Realistically, Navarro was on the ropes, they could have easily found a way to leverage the feds to intervene there instead of getting the feds to intervene on Navarro's behalf. Now, they've tied their fate to Navarro most likely. It remains to be seen if they poisoned the fed well with their shenanigans or not, but they may have. And now all the pissed off hill people they have been taking advantage of are consolidated against them. Wendy's drive is to be at the top of the game I guess. Is that really what being right hand to a drug cartel boss is though? She's set them up in a position where prison is the best case scenario.

nah. Wendy doesn't have that kind of long term goal. She's a cheater. "Once a cheater, always a cheater." The affair and her trying to "take control" and have her own criminal career is the same thing. the season started with several dreams of her leaving Marty. one killing him and taking the money, other kicking him out, as he fled, and she stayed. But, its again, an Affair. she doesn't actually want a divorce and move on. She wants the thrill, and excitement of having your cake and eat it too. or whatever cheaters get out of it. certainly not long term thing though. shes thinking very short term. Which was kindof Marty's wtf are you doing?

Agree, yeah, she either can't see the inevitable outcome of what she's doing, which is fucked up but happens, or she just doesn't care. So far, Marty's been on the verge of being murdered at least twice that I can remember off the top of my head, he's clear eyed about their situation, Wendy hasn't had that happen yet. She's been insulated from that aspect, right up until she is cleaning brains out of her hair. I wonder if her attitude will change next season.

Skylar (the son) is actually pretty impressive and I wonder if he'll snap from never getting credit.

Just binged this other day. Good show, 100% recommend, but creepily reminded me of growing up in Nova Scotia.

Fucking with and stealing from tourists reminds me of summers in kejimkujik. We were like fucking navy seals stealing beer all summer long, there were various little island campsites on the lakes, felt like invading Normandy to us. We would go all out commando mode, all paranoid, but not a single discovery/capture. Reselling "acquired" canoes/kayaks always made us a bit of coin the following year. Never quite got into selling anything other than weed or a bit of hash, but we would make crazy money running booze all over the park. We felt like gangsters, despite the fact we were simply punk assed local kids.

Netflix has confirmed that the series will return for a fourth (and final) 14-episode season, which will be spit into two parts.

I hate when they split a season in two then say “oh we had to it’s just so big.” So instead of 10 episodes, it’s 14, but split in half is two season of seven episodes. It feels like two small seasons instead of one big one. Just wait a couple months and do all 14 as your final season if it really is one season. Fuckers trigger my ocd or autism or whatever when they do that.

Living in Valley around then, so close enough. Usually got a ride there somehow as soon as school out, and spent the entire summer in the area. If we needed to jump back home for something, it was like a day bike ride home. Was a foster kid, so no one gave a shit as long as I stayed alive, and came back to go to school in September.

Nowadays that would be called child abuse, since we were literally on our own, and we would need therapists and all that shit. Kids these days have no clue how sheltered they are.

Started watching this. Season 1 was decent but season 2 kinda sucks. Unsure whether to continue.

That's the general consensus. Season 2 was very, very slow and as a result kind of boring, but the set up for season 3 is worth it.
