Good season. The ending made no sense to me however. He had everything he needed to get from them, so why the lawyer hit? He could still use her.

I am assuming he found out that:

Helen's kid now knows and Helen never told him about what had transpired with Wendy's brother
Helen initiated the hit on the brother without ever consulting him
Helen went to the FBI to try and cover her tracks

Helen had become a huge liability. They made a big point of showing Wendy call him to let him know about her brother and he didn't seem like he knew the brother had even become a problem that needed dealing with.

None of that really happens on screen so it's all conjecture but I'm guessing we will find that out in the first scenes of the next season when the Byrds inevitably ask "WHAT THE FUCK?!"

Helen had made it them vs her and they proved to be more useful.

I don't like this being about Marty and Wendy fighting over this Khorum.

Helen and Wendy Girl Power duo is just... not interesting either. Wendy and Ruthie would have been better. It legit made no sense when Helen told Marty that it was his fault they were audited by the FBI because of the Cosgrove thing. Because the FBI agent tells Marty to his face that the audit was triggered by the purchase of a second casino.

Think it's a combination of the 2. They have 2 rivals, one burns down and they buy the other one. They went from 3 casinos to a monopoly in the span of a few days

I think we are going to find out he already has a mole in the FBI, might even have been the black chick the whole time.

Helen sabotaging Marty with that fake confession was still giving out his information to the FBI and that wasn’t beneficial for anyone but herself.

She had to go.

I grew up about an hour west of Branson in Cassville, MO.

I'm related to the Marples! Small world. I also grew up in that general area (AR side), and I'm buying a house in Bentonville at the moment.

Wendy promised him she would get the US to go to Mexico and end the war. She wanted Helen out of the way in return. He paid the price she requested.

I assumed since Wendy went on a deal with Navarro, considering she did her part of the deal (US going after Laguna cartel), he did his. Killing Helen in Mexico also would make sense, making her disappear there, coming from (probably) some undocumented private plane flight, is rather easier than in US. Then again, making her disappear, with her daughter knowing everything going back to her dad and Helen saying something like "she'll never be able to shut her mouth", would just create more headaches.

I remember during the season Helen stated than cartel business isn't regular business where you can ever retire, HR is how much money you bring, and where getting promoted means someone else's gonna disappear. So maybe with all the shit's going on, Navarro thought there's unnecessary redundancy and killing her in front of both Wendy and Marty also lets him make a point about it. Maybe it's Navarro way of, after kidnapping and torturing Marty and making Wendy indirectly kill her brother, getting absolute loyalty and obedience from the Blythe family.

So I don't wanna read through this and get spoilers. Can anyone give me a run down on if this is worth the time to watch?

If you liked either of the previous seasons, then yes. It was very good. It had a much faster pace and more action than season 2.

ive not seen any of it
Season 1 was alright, it's basically Breaking Bad without meth and a focus on the money laundering but with weaker characters and wife involvement from the start. I thought that season 2 was a boring rehash of the same themes from the first season and so haven't touched the third.

Season 2 was boring and tough to get through. Season 3 is much, much better.

I wish they hadn't spent as much time on the brother and his issues. Don't get me wrong, he acted the fuck out of it and his performance was great. It just got tedious seeing him repeat the same behavior over and over and over, and nobody taking a stand against it until the very end. Having known his issues and what the likely outcome was going to be, Marty and Wendy should have told him FUCKING NOPE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE as soon as he showed up and was still on his medications. Was only going to end poorly.

Haven’t caught up on thread because I just finished season 2. Not sure it was great. It wasn’t bad at all just not near what season 1 was. Way too many pointless threads that ultimately contributed nothing. Whole episodes where nothing happened. Weak character development from the daughter. It was all perfectly watchable but just very mediocre.

About the only guaranteed thing is Charlotte is painfully gorgeous.

Starting up season 3.

I think Charlotte looks kind of like an alien but to each their own!

When they brought the character kind of nowhere I was really like "what a dumb thing to add at this point", well I was very wrong, the character is top notch and the actor's gig is Emmy / Globe material. They really nailed how relentless and harsh bipolar disorder is to someone and everyone around, like it's a genuine medical condition, not just a "dude cheer up" or "man just calm down" attitude.
I thought the same thing at first like "ugh, why this character and why now" but that dude fucking nailed it, that was really good.

I love how the crazy guy is the only sane one, as well, he's like screaming at the top of his lungs "What the fuck is wrong with you people this is NOT normal!?!" and they're just acting like "well, you know how Ben be". Nah, you people are fucking bananas, especially Wendy.

I'm on the last episode, will probably finish tonight. I like the show much better when it's Marty and Wendy against the world, I don't like the conflict between them so much. I don't understand Wendy at fucking all, she's spent the entire season doing everything possible to dig her and their family in further.

She really enjoys it.
Yeah, I get it, and yet the cartel will skin them all alive, including the kids. It's not an "if" but a "when". She's very smart, she surely knows this, there is no version of entrenching ties with the cartel that doesn't end with her dead, tortured children in a shallow grave somewhere in Mexico.
