^^ Kinda touched on an important aspect ^^

FUCK armor dyes!! I absolutely loathed their implementation. I loved when you could just look at a character (without inspecting) and know how geared they were. Here's two warriors LFG? One is in a spattering of orange and the other is in full yellowish brown? I will take the PoHate geared warrior over mr bronze armor. Nevermind that fact you also ended up with hot pink / rainbow colored idiots running around.

Just a question to admin/mods... would it be worthwhile to possibly have some of the more prevalent or repeated points listed in the initial post? I'm not saying Brad's going to take anything we say into any major consideration but if agreeable points are made would be nice to see them in one place for Brad or whoever to see the pulse of the community. I've seen several points that many of us agree.
This seems a little weird, could you give one example of a post you think should be copied into the OP?

That's one thing I miss from MMORPG's, the ability to take one look at someone and go "omg that gear" and on the flipside go "wow you've been out of the game a while", both of which happened to me on different occasions. With dye's, appearance slots, etc. you dont get to see a visual representation of where that guy/gal has been and what they've accomplished. Only rarely in VG did I ask someone about gear, and that was usually only due to a flashy weapon. In EQ you could tell those SSoY's and Rubicite armor from half a courtyard away, or when I came back after a hiatus, some guy looking at me in Ivy etched gear and going "your rocking some old school stuff".
Wow was like that too. Its more just something you can do for any new mmo that doesn't have expansions. After enough expansions/tiers of gear it gets too hard to memorize what tier some item came from. So the key is to make a MMO that never has an expansion!

Yeah WoW is like that and still was back when I played in wotlk. You just had to know the gear. There is much more gear acquirable in much different ways in WoW than there was in EQ so it's a lot harder to tell what's going on.

Sounds like a lot of work for the mods. Sift through several pages of fanboy wishlists and decide which are the most common?

I think Brad knows exactly what he wants to do. I'm guessing if he's 50/50 on an idea he will ask around.
I know that, Muligan asked for it not me! Some people think their ideas are so good that there is no way anyone would disagree with them/ a dev would ignore the idea. Now that a dev is in the thread, it's become ridiculous. I wish Utnayan would get in here with his notes, that would be entertainment!

I think he's referring to a centralized list of ideas that could be easily found.
I am... If he is wanting anything out of this or if anyone was curious what points have been commonly raised or agreed upon, you do run into a page worth of good points and discussion only to be followed by 2-3 pages of bantering. Maybe it could be done roundtable style. Where we vote on a popular point such as instance vs. non-instance and post the result. You know, talk about something meaningful to the game (exactly the opposite of what SoE is doing with EQNext.). Honestly, I give this community a lot of credit in regards to being the pulse of the type of player I am and look for in other games.

Was just an suggestion really... Maybe once the KS pops up we can discuss ideas a bit further.

As I said in my previous post that I don't think our ideas are taken into any major consideration but it was more for us as roundtable and if Brad wants a general idea how this community feels, it would be easily found.

i think the best thing brad could do is not listen to any of us and just make the game he wants, like he did when he made EQ. when you have too many cooks in the kitchen, you wind up with shit stew. EQ was damn near perfect, at least through SOV, and despite all the issues with VG, i liked the direction of that game as well. i have enough faith in his vision when it comes to MMO's to believe he has a pretty good idea of what is working in the industry and what isn't.

I think its a good idea, if only for our community. One that just came up we haven't discussed in awhile is armor. I forgot how much I hated this, "everyone can wear cool looking armor" trend. That would be worth adding to the list. The best armor in the game should be easily recognizable. And someone shouldn't be able to hit the cash shop and buy bad ass looking flaming gold armor etc....

Again, I don't think Brad needs a list. Guys been doing this for so long he knows exactly what he's going to do, but I think your idea is solid.

I think that kind of happened with VG. The beta boards were ridiculous with people and their shitty ideas. At one point Brad had to step in with a post to basically tell people to stfu. Those boards were so entertaining.

the comments and discussion have been great. overwhelming even

Certainly gratifying in that most of what I see that is wanted, we'd already planned

No list needed really, Brad knows what we want and will give it to us

I would be interested to see a 'top ten things the Rerolled community wants in a future mmo' list. Would just be interesting to see if we could come to a decision.

That'd be more appropriate for non-MMO specific threads (Ex: what are action mmos missing?)

As bad as Sony is sure to fuck up EQN, I give em props for the "3 tiers" idea. They have some good ideas, just to bad such a fucking incompetent company were the ones to institute it.

Since everyone is armchairing I may as well throw my 2 cents in. This assumes of course there is more leveling content than anyone one character can complete like in EQ or VG.

An idea I've had for one aspect of AA's is this: If you mentor down to any major area or dungeon and "complete" it, whether it's a giant questline (Infineum zone in VG), armor set completion, or clearing all important named mobs - you will receive AA points. This way there is an incentive to mentor down and complete content with lower level characters; while simultaneously helping you avoid xp grinding the same spots at max level for AA's.
