Not really. I like FO4's environment and the immersion offered there but my ass isn't going into every terminal to read up on every person in the environment. You know my lazy ass is also skipping over half the dialog cutscenes.

I have never once read a quest in WoW. It was get quests ->Thottbot: World of Warcraft Database-> look at map -> profit.

Yeah, I never knew (nor cared) about any of the lore in WoW. I cared very little about it in EQ, but followed a little bit of it by the end of Velious.

I knew Thrall was our leader. And uh... something about Illidan made everyone love him. Cause he had twin blades? I must say, they're pretty sweet.

In the past they said they wouldn't prevent it, but that mechanics wouldn't make it easy or some shit like that.

Yeah, the game is going to be so complex and so engaging that nobody will be able to multi-box effectively. Hell, nobody willwantto! And gosh darn it I believe it!

I enjoy the surface lore. Like, some human killed some dark elf, started a war and now there are continual skirmishes in X part of the world. I don't need to know all the names or dates, but knowing that everything isn't just totally random and that there is a reason everything exists does enhance the immersion.

I understand having some lore as a framing device, to explain certain areas, dungeons, loot, factions, etc. But what usually winds up happening are a bunch of people who don't have the talent to write a porn script get together and try to write some cheesy lore to explain why there's turmoil in their world and how "you're the hero!"
