Got some good lulzs out of that, especially the part where a guy called Brad out on Vanguard and his shenanigans there. He came back and pretty much said he had extreme stress and made bad decisions but is now stronger and a better human being and can handle it now, and even avoid it. It sort of seemed like someone begging for a second chance, which I mean, it really is I suppose. I do not know how much of what Brad said was even truthful, maybe in his own twisted mind.
Honestly, based on the small parts I read, having him do this AMA, was a mistake. He was just blowing hot air out of his ass hoping we'd give him money. I think we all know that was obvious though, it is a shame they didn't.
The scope of making these games is epic! A long time ago in college, I had this "great" idea to make a 2D MMORPG, of course, it failed miserably. I thought I could do it since I had experience coding MUDs. I thought I could figure out the 'simple' 2D graphics and then the UI by myself. I did get really far along, enough for having all of the mechanics and a lot of content in. We had like 100 or something zones. But it just reached a breaking point where it was just too much for me and my friend to handle. So we quit. I won't say my failed quest of making the 2D MMORPG was a waste a time. I learned a lot about programming, designing systems, performance, technologies, feature control and creep, and project management. After we failed, we decided to use these concepts, skills and even large chunks of code to jumpstart development of a MUD, which has benefited greatly (and it is infinitely easier to code haha).
I can only imagine how the devs feel on Pantheon: Rise of Brad's Crack Pipe, especially after Brad spewing all these vapor features everywhere. If they didn't feel overwhelmed before they probably do now. I doubt we'll even see 5% of what he is saying. I doubt we'll even see a fleshed out game up to level 50 or whatever their cap is in the next 5 years. I thought they would muzzle Brad this time but I guess not.
