Minion scaling is all about gem level for the most part, so you don't see a huge influx of damage until you start stacking major +skills. Minions are generally slow and steady through campaign and don't really ramp until you've got a few of them 6 linked with a good +7 or so levels.
The new Sorc clears really quickly while leveling once you get the ascendancy+decent spectres. It's pretty slow early on though.

Yeah I think everything is just slow as fuck early game. Save the bow and xbow. They do need to fix that if they want to have newer people keep playing past act 1. everything just feels so slow and weak.

Personally I quite like act 1, teaches you to dodge out of shit and stuff. I do think some skills should be available earlier though, but I think I'd compress it so you get all your skills by half of act2 rather than put everything in act1.

It's starting around act3 that it gets tiresome as fuck, act2 drags on a decent bit with some gigantic map spam near the end and act3 is more of the same and I wish they'd just shorten the whole thing by cutting map size in half in those acts and later.

This patch is so good, I'm going to bed at a responsible time. I got my fill of Poison PF. Even with gear from the AH, I was nodding off. Will probably try Wolf Druid, it does look fun, but also worried about too many buttons.

Their need to balance campaign boss fights around a tight power level is going to be the death of this game. Well, also not being able to properly staff both games. If they weren't HQ'd on a remote island, I'd say that's the easier problem to fix!

Fuck sprinting.

I mean as far as PoE2 goes it's easily in the top5 in terms of clear speed and still deletes bosses in 3 seconds.

Even if I hate Bow builds my friends talked me into trying the Poison one. It is wierd that bow skills are so much better and smoother to play. No clunkyness at all like all the other shit I've tried.

I understand why people prefer it even if I dont really like the class fantasy of it.

Yea I expect a melee overhaul when they add daggers and swords.

you're gonna have to wait a long time for that. They will pretty much do anything but because they know that melee is beyond fucked. They will probably move some nodes around for the 1.0 release and call it a day. For any major change GGG MO is pretty clear: nerf fucking everything and then start selectively giving minor buffs with hotfixes and patches to utterly broken stuff so that it will be at least playable. Same applies to pretty much all league mechanics when leagues launch as well. The fixing issues will last about 3 weeks max then they will go radio silent until it's time to start hyping the next league

Will be interesting to see how long they keep their head in the sand about the disparity between life and ES and armor vs evasion, and I hope their solution doesn't involve nerfing ES while just adding life nodes to the tree. A few sources of life in the tree is okay especially for builds that like to focus on defense/life/str stacking, but going all out life nodes as the answer is just lazy and hurts the already weak passive tree.

They mentioned this in their interview after the reveal and they said they are fully aware of the disparity and they did some small minor changes to ES but more needs to be done.

Yea hoping for a melee buff from GGG is pretty retarded you aren't even wrong

Last time they 'fixed' melee in PoE1 was Legion and all they did was add uneven 1-2 attack animation to most skills and cut their base attack speed by 25-30%.

Those changes persist to this day, and all the current meta strike skills are ones that somehow escaped this 'fix' because it fucking sucked cock. Frost blades, viper strike, elemental hit, lightning strike all somehow didn't get this change so they have the old/basic attack animation and no base attack penalty, and as a result have been various levels of top of the meta until they all slowly get nerfed.

How do people handle hitting keyboard bound skills and flasks with wasd? I'm trying freezy boi with mouse finding it better since melee benefits less from wasd anyway.

ASDF for life, but I also bind anything that requires heavy usage to mouse for any game. So much better for long gaming sessions.
