I.. I had no idea that.. well, gearing had became so fucking crazy in this game. I knew about a couple parts, but the extent of this is just .. a lot.

Well they did just nerf crafting A LOT in the updated patch notes, they're restricting essences and the new essence like crafting they're adding to one per item(potentially affects other currency, the description of the change is vague, says you can only have one deterministic craft that adds a guaranteed stat). It's largely an issue because for many crafts, the idea is that you'd use an essence instead of a Regal to make a good magic base into a rare with 3 specific good stats, then add another perfect essence at the end to guarantee another good mod. Now you can't do that, so you have to regal rng or exalt rng one more time.

There is a lot more crafting shit this patch though so might not be THAT bad but it'll probably mean it's a lot harder to craft very good items, especially early on(it was pretty easy to craft very good weapons for early mapping progression because of double essences).

Edit: Reading the patch notes again, they changed the wording a lot it seems. Old one was "Crafting methods that puts a single guaranteed modifier on an item now adds it as a crafted modifier, items can only have a single crafted modifier on an item", new one says "All crafted modifiers are now guaranteed, but items can only have 1 crafted modifier at a time. Desecrated modifiers no longer count as crafted modifiers, but items are limited to 1 Desecrated modifier."

This removes the ability to make weapons (mostly specifically bows) using 3 essences that always come out the same and can clear all endgame content.

People are gonna be mad cause they always are, but this had to happen. The floor for weapon crafting was way, way too high.

Basically nerfs all 2h martial weapons, not only bows. Staves, Bows, maces.... And yeah, basically removes god tiered weapons people were rolling day one. Maybe shit for running them, but good for the game. I mean at the surface its stupid to allow 3 perfect essence to be used on a single item. POE1 never allowed this either. Only 1 per.

Not going to stress about any crafting changes until we see how all the new league crafting and runes plays into it

The one from the rune crafting that had me excited was being able to take 3 flat elementals into one combined, imagine doing that and then hitting a t1 %phys.

The Resist switching rune craft was all I wanted in crafting, could not give a fuck about anything else. I don't have the correct autism for crafting.

Would the resist switching fluxes count as a crafted mod since they are literally guaranteeing the resulting mod, thus not being able to add another crafted mod on top of the item?
