Yeah, mostly because the wording is so weird for the case where you have an item with fire and cold res but you want lightning. Obviously you can't take an item with 40 fire and 40 cold and get 80 lightning, but that's what the text would imply to someone who doesn't know much about how gear works. I have no idea what it actually does though. Pick one, convert it, delete the other would be my guess, just because that's how an asshole would design it.

But yeah, I really need my item to stay exactly the same but just remove the word cold and replace it with lightning. I've learned long ago to never assume anything in POE works how you would want it to as a player, however.
No it does convert all the resists, in separate lines. You can easily find examples if you search the trade site for very high resist items. Ingame I believe they're displayed as separate lines but on trade they're combined, but you can see that's 3 suffixes into one roll.

That means you can make godly chaos resist items by using the chaos alloy, by converting like 100+% worth of ele resist into one fat chaos roll and fix all your chaos resist at once. Obviously you still need to fix your ele resists but it's a lot easier that way.

Only takes 2ex to test though if you're worried, grab a random rare with 2 resists and buy a flux of the other elem and use it to check.

Nice buffs for ele casters

  • Added 40 new Elemental Passive Skills near Jewel Sockets, mainly around the Sorceress/Witch and Druid areas of the Passive Skill Tree.
  • Logging out and in again now preserves your heavy stun buildup. Logging out while heavy stunned will now restart the heavy stun animation when you log in again, unless you log into a different place to where you logged out.
  • The Empowering Infusions Notable Passive Skill now grants 35% increased Spell Damage if you have consumed an Elemental Infusion Recently (previously 30%).
  • The Principal Infusion Notable Passive Skill now grants 30% increased Elemental Infusion duration (previously 20%).
  • Small Passives granting 12% increased Spell Damage if you have consumed an Elemental Infusion Recently now have values of 15%.
  • The Cold, Lightning and Fire Attunement Support Gems are no longer limited to supporting just Attacks. These now grant Gain 25% of Damage as Extra Cold, Lightning or Fire Damage respectively.
  • Ice Bite I Support is no longer limited to supporting just Attacks, and now grants Gain 25% of Damage as Cold Damage for 5 seconds on Freezing an Enemy with Supported Skills.
  • Ice Bite II Support is no longer limited to supporting just Attacks, and now grants Gain 30% of Damage as Cold Damage for 6 seconds on Freezing an Enemy with Supported Skills.
  • Innervate Support is no longer limited to supporting just Attacks, and now grants Gain 25% of Damage as Lightning Damage for 5 seconds on killing a Shocked enemy with Supported Skills.

It can roll random values. I have a 120 lightning res belt that didn't start out at 40/40/40.

"more passive skills".
as if there are enough passive points in the first place. its like the Archon, infusion, etc shit. cool passives. who the fuck can afford the 30 passive points to get them?

Woah. calm down. there. dont want to make infusions TOO good.

Also I have Archon stuff, but well it's for Archon of Undeath not the elemental shit. The nodes are quite good as long as you use Dominion annoint for "perma" Archon.

And presumably being elemental specific nodes, they're going to be stronger than other more generic nodes, so they'll likely be good. That said I assume it'll mostly be a buff to spell totem and CoC rather than self casters anyway.

FFS, they fixed a bunch of Runeseeker bugs in the patch, but the one that makes it impossible to progress past Act 3 on any character after the first one that does it is still alive and well. How is something like that not a priority?

ok, so elem nodes added.

some are stupid strong.

2 point preq. sorc main branch.

ice storm -gain 6% of cold damage as extra lighting. unaffected by chilling ground.
lightning storm -gain 6% of lighting damage as extra cold. unaffected by shocked ground.

and 1 point between them, meaning you can get both for 5 points.

----
sorc/druid far gem.

flurry and arsonist.
these aren't as good.
3 point preqs.
20% inc cold damage, 10% inc cast speed while chilled. 5% reduced movement speed penalty from using cold skills while moving.

20% inc fire damage, 10% inc cast speed while cignited. 5% reduced movement speed penalty from using fireskills while moving.

----
Rhythm of ice and fire. druid main branch gem.

3 point preq,
20% in fire damage, 5% chance for slam skills to cause additional aftershock

20% cold damage, 6% inc cast speed per spell echoed recently, up to 30% (4 s recently)

These also have a 1 between to get both.

This set is ok. but even an Elemental chrono, who was considering going over there for the recoup.. ehhh. not worth the point invest.

only counting 24 points, so not sure what Im overlooking yet.

found them.
Brainstorm/freeze up by CI,
and stormkeeper/flame keeper down by far druid/war gem.

Brain storm is pretty insane. Lighting builds all stack mana in the first place. mana tempest/archmage.

Brain freeze seems a bit weak. flat - resist is strong. but just cold is lame.
