Leave it to me. Dropped portal in temple at the door to the boss fight. Went back to HO to drop off all the loot. When I clicked on the portals to go back, nothing. When I click on Alva all she says is no more incursions. Looked on a map to see if it would enter temple. Nope, go back to HO. No portals at all now.

She doesn't respond in hideout or map now. Nothing.

I just started this a few days ago.
Playing arc/trap sabo.

I'm quite overwhelmed trying to understand map shaping, all the vendor recipes, etc. Just seems like so much info.
Mostly just doing all maps ignoring any min/max strategy.

Also, trying to figure out why I'm dying so much. I kill everything easily but still get one-shot a lot. I know my resistances need work. My gear is a mix of armor/evasion, based just on what I've found, and since I'm using Acrobatics I should likely focus on Evasion only?

So, total newb playing this Glacial Cascade totem hiero build (Forum - Templar - [3.3] Glacial Cascade Totem Hierophant [ALL Content in the Game!] Deathless Uber Elder Video! - Path of Exile).

I have no idea how to figure out if I'm properly upgrading gear or not. I follow the gear suggestions on the build guide but so far I've just been clicking on Glacial Cascade on my character sheet and using items that increase the DPS listed there. Is that a poor way to figure out gear upgrades?

I'm 66 atm.

Also I got that Path of Builders thing, this is my guy after import:

ok, took me a bit but I finally pulled up your character. PoE Profile Info brikker / Briks

First priority is fixing your resists. You pretty much need to cap these at every point of the game before you do anything else. So on your defensive tab you you should have 75 to all 3 resists. Chaos resist is nice to have around with Incursions, but it's something you can ignore for now.

Damage comes secondary always to resists. Resists > Life > Damage > Other shit.

If you're not using the PoB (Path of Building) links in the build description you should start now. This gives you a better idea on how the build works and the skill gems required. You're not using a Cast of Damage Taken link setup for Immortal Call which is pretty much needed. Even if you're not actively using a skill yet, because you don't have the right sockets or whatever, you should still be leveling the gems required as you are able too. PoB will also give you the exact level with which to stop leveling some gems, especially with the CoDT set ups.

Remember you can level gems in your secondary weapon slots (you don't need to switch to them in combat -- they will just level passively) to help out with gems you need if you don't have full sockets in your gear.

A very large amount of your damage comes from the level of your gems, and your skill tree. I know with my build I can remove my weapons and still do a shitload of damage.

TLDR - Get your resists up, pack as much life as you can and get your skill gems sorted out.

Anyone got some good currency making tips through crafting? My buddy is crafting bows for ele hit builds and it might make him a decent profit. Was wondering if anyone had run into any decent crafting flips.

If you're not that far into the game, this video by cutedog is very good(although its 40 mins). But I'll try to summarize the most important stuff:

1) It is all about efficiency. The best way to make the most money, magic finding or not, is to just do as many maps as you can, as fast as you can. Granted, actual speed depends on your build/gear.
2) To address efficiency, look at what you are doing during and in between maps. How many seconds/minutes do you spend selling shit to a vendor, stashing your currency/map/items, rolling maps, etc.?

Easiest methods of addressing efficiency:
1) Roll all your maps at once that you plan to run. For example, you are gonna run 7 T10 maps, 5 T9 maps, 11 T8 maps. Roll them all, now. Spend the same time rerolling maps that have mods your build can't do.

2) Have a dump tab(s). This is essentially where you dump every piece of loot you pick up at the end of each map. No selling to vendor, no sorting and stashing. Just open this up, and dump everything in here. You will come back and sell/sort once all your maps are done.

3) Loot filter has to be set to where you are financially in the game(I will be using Neversinks as an example). If this is your first character, you will be doing a lot of the chaos recipe. That's fine. Set it to semi-strict(no one should ever set this to lower than semi-strict, ever). Pick up pieces of gear that are upgrades for you, or that you need to for your chaos recipe. A 2h marauder does not need quivers, and an arc trapper does not need swords.

Once your gear is decent, and you have a ok amount of chaos, set it to strict. This is what I use most of the time. At this point, I only do the unID'd chaos recipe off of boss drops only(I don't pick up much during the run, but I always say that if I portal back, I should bring as much as I can with me. This is personal preference). Your character should be able to fly through and 1-2 shot packs at this point.

On to more high level/meta money making methods:

1) I make a ton of exalts crafting high level abyss jewels, specifically murderous eye(red melee) jewel. It is easy to get them if you have zana 7 and t16s as you can use her mod to force an abyss to spawn in your map. It helps to know what the meta builds that use these jewels are and craft for them.

2) Currency flipping. I've never done this(very well anyways), but the principle is simple. Buy low, sell high. What's the easiest way to do that? Use PoE Currency. You will click on "Manage your Shops." At this point you will need to set up your account with poe trade by sending a message to a specific account on the official forums(the website will guide you through it). After that, you can set prices on currency that you wish to buy and things you wish to sell. You will then set your price to something favourable, such as "I will buy exalts at 115 chaos each." At the same time, you can also put up "I will sell exalts at 125c each." Now who in their right minds will sell you exalts at that price knowing that they can sell for 125? Well, lots of factors. Time of day. Good uber lab drives fragment prices up. Sellers are AFK, so people will go down the list if they are desperate. If you put a big order, such as "I will buy 10 exalts at 110 each", many people will do that just because you have 10 exalts of sale; they don't have to dick around for 10 separate trades @ 120. Many other reasons I probably don't know, so perhaps others can chime in on this.

3) Carries. Got an easy Uber Lab day? Carry noobs for their loot. Can kill guardians/shaper? 5-10c per head. Good at Encounters VI? 10-35c I've seen this league.

4) Magic Find Windripper doing 72 burial chambers an hour. Yeah have fun with that lol.

5) Run uber lab, get good enchants on popular hats. Starkonja's, Indigon, high Ilvl shaped/elder bases, Mind of the Council, etc. You will have to look up what builds are meta, but arc / double strike / tornado shot / molten strike are some good ones.

6) Uber Elder. My personal favourite. I just really enjoy challenging fights, and sometimes you just get a jewel thats worth 30 ex. Best of both worlds! But uh, good be pretty good at fight mechanics. And be ok with loser several shaper sets learning the fight.

Hope this helps.

Yeah mostly it's an efficiency thing, but you'll make money just playing the game regardless, so mostly it's how fast you make money.

I play pretty inefficiently still(not as bad as I used to where I'd generally go back to sell shit in the middle of maps) but I can see my chaos count go up at a pretty fair rate. I wish I bought a 4x stash during the sale at the start of the league though, for chaos recipe stuff. I've been doing unid chaos recipe ever since I hit 60(realistically, I can't remember the last time I've found really good gear myself, most of the time I find "adequate" gear, which I can buy for a chaos or two in 30secs anyway). I just ID leather and str belts/coral and double resist rings/dex+str and onyx amulets, rest I just pick up to do recipes, which means generally I don't pick up much unless the tab is empty or I have a bunch of amulets to do the recipe.

I still loot every unique even though most aren't worth shit, I'm just keeping them "in case of" and also because I haven't seen many of them since I haven't played seriously in a while. The recipe makes like 2chaos every other map or so, so it's not great but it's something nice on the side, consistent money and it really doesn't take much time. Temple can give several amulets at the same time though.

I also find a bunch of stuff that's semi valuable, a tabula rasa here, an enlighten gem there, it's not much but it adds up, with the recipe and raw drops, you end up making like 50chaos in a day or whatever even at my slow pace.

Other than that, jewels definitely have some money to be made if you have a bunch of alts to burn. Hell just flipping them can be profitable although there's a lot of competition. But for example when I wanted my build jewels, they were all like 10c each(flat life abyss jewels with minion damage%). But I set a live alert, and I bought all my jewels for 1-2c from people listing them too cheap. I could have just resold them in a few minutes for profit. And I crafted one of them too(was blue when I bought it, with the 2 stats), which probably pushed its value from the 1c I bought it to like 25+c.

I have to say, after 3 consecutive leagues with a block build, not using one feels fucking squishy. I actually feel like I could use more armor since outside of flask it's really low and massed small to medium hits hurt more than I expected. Not sure if that's worth pursuing though, or how to go about it except buying a high armor chest I cannot afford for now (using a shitty corrupted 6-link).

You can respec ascendancy. 5 Regret per point. You can even do it in normal which is nice. Just need access to the alter thingie at the end of the lab.

Also I also can't imagine coming into this game new. I have over 1000 hours logged and I still feel like a noob. It's like there are people that are a above me who have killed all the stuff. Then there are people like Korrupt Korrupt and Jonkimble Jonkimble who just shit out exalts due to their knowledge of how to flip and how to run maps super effeciently. Then there are people even above that still who could tell you exactly how the phys to fire conversion unique amulet that only procs when you heal your pet works specifically with some other conversion technique(don't even think thats an item btw, but I wouldn't be surprised because I'm still discovering new items I either don't remember or are coming back in fasion)

It's the exact reason I don't play Warframe. Shit looks cool as fuck but the amount of content and getting into it is just super daunting to me.

poe.ninja is the primary tool I use, you can see what something is doing on the market and what the trends were in other leagues etc. Poe.ninja also lets you new guys search for skills or classes and you can see what others are doing for builds. It even gives you there PoB code to import so you can see what the top ladder people are doing or others with your same ascendancy and skill.

@a_skeleton_03 you should download a trade macro which will help with pricing, you just click control D and it tells you the average and the last 10 sale prices. You can for sure ask in the guild, most officers know you now or you can just post in Discord.

I started playing again during the flashback league after taking a break for years so i've been catching up on the game quite a bit. I'm playing a Jugg Life RF build this league, i'm through T10's at this point alright, bosses are starting to give me trouble but its probably a gear issue. My biggest problem is the temple, I just can't kill stuff fast enough, I know they have more HP but the architects are just crazy.

Am I doing something wrong as RF? Should I roll another build in order to do the temple? If so what kind of tanky build do people recommend? I'm not a fan of glass cannons.

The incursion mobs are just fucking tanky. They went a bit nuts with HP this league. My double strike jugg that was built to kill bosses(read, high single target dps) is having trouble clearing red map incursions in time. Going back to my PP build for now.

I started playing again during the flashback league after taking a break for years so i've been catching up on the game quite a bit. Jugg is the beginner RF and does the least amount of damage on an already very low damage build. Its probably the tankiest build there is if you're negating the regen vs Aila's yolo version but the tradeoff is DPS for being able to shield charge at .2 APS with a brightbreak.

Helms that will 7link RF are about 25 ex, friend just picked one up. Helped him be able to kill Uber Elder as Jugg RF, might be worth looking into if you have the EX.

4) Magic Find Windripper doing 72 burial chambers an hour. Yeah have fun with that lol.

The way map manipulation works needs to be fiddle around with a bit. It's so wonky that people complete their map day 2 or 3 and then scour everything to manipulate their shaped maps. It's not as bad as sextant blocking used to be, but it's still weird and counter-intuitive. I know people are gonna say it brings an added depth of knowledge to the game, and I kind of get that, but I wish there were easier ways to target maps. Like killing a boss of a map would guarantee a drop in the quadrant you were running, or maybe make ghosts great again. Fully charged ghosts into rares guarantee drop 1 tier lower or higher connected to the map you are running. I don't know they can probably think of better things but right now the benefits of having a fully fleshed out map is zero comparing the alternative.

Were ghosts ever great? I wasn't around for torment league, but I can't imagine 3+ months of that "feature".

Piss off ghost!

Its really not that much work to make your atlas drop what you want, I ran anything up to t13 and got all my orbs and then spent 5 minutes fixing the atlas to drop shaped only. Easy tradeoff for huge returns, you just need to be around 100+ on the Atlas. I went through 96-97 in hours yesterday running shaped waste pools (note: first 40% I had support) its 2x the XPH of normal dumpster maps of the same tier.

Deathwing Deathwing they sucked but back then the game was way way way slower so things like the ghosts or even invasion were wild to do.

Imagine challenges, but half of them are about getting ghosts into rares.

It was back when each league had a different mechanic though, so I didn't play it, back then I played HC. I did Bloodlines. It was the usual design back then, SC gets the free loot low difficulty mechanic, while HC had bloodlines which was just a ton of fuckery, including motherfucking phylacteral link, order of the frozen sky had to be nerfed like twice cause you'd just literally instantly die running into a larger pack with it(and by into I mean on the same screen, not literally into) and you had obelisks fucking up maps everywhere due to one mob being in a stupid ass spot and having no way to reach it besides going through 15 lightning storm things.

Neither was as appealing as the stuff they did later though, it was like Nemesis and Rogue Exiles and whatever, it was really minor shit. It made for good mechanics to be added to the game though, like you see beastiary and it probably took a while to make all the assets and mechanics, and in the end it wasn't something that'd fit in the game anyway, while those simple leagues before were easy to implement directly into the game.

Oh and ghosts were great at one time, when people were doing the vaal cyclone bullshit where they'd get a bunch of ghosts together and suck up everything in one spot, it was a major lagfest though so they tuned that shit down, forgot how. Was way after the league though, I think it was a zana mod or some shit.

No I get that it's easy to target it if you do the scour method and know which maps you wanna run. But it's impossible to target with a fully fleshed out map. Just feels a bit counter intuitive to me from a progression perspective.
