I hope so. I always thought they should make tank drivers fat.

I played a little yesterday and quickly remembered why I only bother with biolabs.

New patch is pretty fucking good. Light assault can really wreck vehicles now and the new jump jets looks really sweet. I didn't feel like I died to some bullshit vehicle assholes but maybe twice.

Make sure you use the code PS2WelcomeBack for a free gun and helmet.

EDIT: That new sniper rifle is frustrating, if you're running in a straight line at all and they have any semblance of head tracking you're dead.

Where's the patch notes?

EDIT: Oh shit they finally stole the SW:Battlefront jump jets like I suggested a year ago. Time to play this game again.

Definitely a step in the right direction, for the first time since launch I'm actually excited to play when I have free time.

Wrel might be making some good headway towards getting a his where it needs to be. Hopefully it'll lure back some players.

They destroyed the only fun parts of the game. Won't ever come back.

L

Liberators (a2a) esfs (a2a) and harassers

Harassers were OP as shit and hard to kill, I still died a lot to them last night. Zooming around fucking infantry up. Libs were also very strong, I think people just have to learn how to re-use vehicles that were previously shitting all over everything.

Battles seem more fluid and I see less tanks sitting off in the distance picking people off without any worries about being killed.

Seems busy but my 5 minutes of play was nonstop instant death to snipers. I might log in now and then and see if there's a good biolab battle going.

I had issues with that new sniper when I was at tech plants, all those fuckers up high would just pick you off as you ran for an objective. I'm sure it'll calm down once the new wears off.

I did like that I could go toe to toe with heavies now if I got surprised and didn't get off tons of headshots. I think this will be really good for new players, seems more based on skill than shields.

Those new jump jets are crazy, had so many people ambush me that I didn't expect. I need to unlock them and try them out.

Havent played this in years. Is this ok to get back into now? Or does it still suck?

I think it's still fun and they just put out a massive update that brought everything in line for more cohesive gameplay which I think improved the game but some disagree.

There is still nothing like this out there and it's my go to arcade shooter if I want some fun FPS action.

So I played almost exclusively as a reaver pilot in PS1 and had a lot of fun supporting battles as CAS and dying in the a2a fights when not running with an escort or being overwhelmed. At release, no matter how hard I tried I could not get that experience to replicate in PS2. Spent most of my time nearly dying to ground aa to be picked off by a2a when backing off for a repair without being able being able to have any sort of real impact on the battlefield (maybe 1-2 kills per strafe/death).

I'm sure things have changed a lot, but PS2 definitely seemed more ground focused than balanced equally or air focused. Has that changed?

Air has dominated for a long time now, they nerfed AA against ESF's sometime after launch and now the Liberator is almost un-killable from the ground after this last patch.

Might be worth looking into now but I have no idea how PS1 played, so I have nothing to compare it to.
