Anyway Kinship is the best Michelin Rated Restaurant in DC by my opinion. I put it above Minibar and Pinapples and Pearls, not only because at Kinship you can get away with 3-4 drinks and a dinner for 2 for $150ish (4x that at Mini and P&P) but the food is just so fucking good.

Recommended off the menu (assume they aren't going anywhere because they have been on the menh since it opened) lobster french toast and the kinship roast chicken. Loved the monk fish pastrami and crispy casava too.

I was really disappointed in Fiola. Would not recommend.

I knew this was coming.

French Laundry just finished their major over hall and wife and I have been halfheartedly trying to get reservations. May have to book a higher end yountville hotel to get em. Read the concierges of those places have ways of getting tables.

French Laundry is really overrated.

Thread title needs "super taster" removed. Super tasters are the people who can't enjoy dishes served at establishments like the ones mentioned in this thread. Everything good offends them.

It also just went through a multi year huge renovation, update and i'm sure giant menu philosophy changes.

grew up in Sonoma/napa. French laundry is highly overrated. you go for the experience more than the food. there are 10 Michelin rated restaurants (as of 2016 I think) in Napa/Sonoma, you can do better than French laundry, for much cheaper, without having to wait a long ass time for a reservation.

I'm in Peru right now and the best, highest quality restaurants are like $25 per person. This is awesome.

Alpaca with some cheesy potato dish prepared like a crepe with a ton of thinly sliced layers.

Really looking forward to this place that apparently has next level lomo saltado. A favorite of mine.

Went to Columbia Room last weekend with 2 other couples. Drunks were great, food was alright, but there was no rhyme or reason to their menu. Only sma plates so we ordered tje whole menu. Beef tartar was the best dish, all others were mediocre

A restaurant opened near us that claims to have award-winning tartare. We went recently and the GF wants to order it. I'm puzzled, because she's not that adventurous with food. It comes out, and I could tell from the I'VE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE look on her face it wasn't what she expected. Turns out she was thinking about carpaccio, not tartare.

To her credit, she still ate it. It probably did win an award. Tartare still looks like cat food.

Tartare doesn't look too appetizing but it's amazing. One of the better small plates.

Yeah, we did enjoy it. But there's something visually jarring about a pile of raw beef that you dump a raw egg over & mix up.

She wouldn't believe me on the egg & made the server come over and confirm I wasn't bullshitting her. Would I lie and poison myself too, woman? Or did I spend a lifetime building a tolerance to iocane powder salmonella just to screw you over at fancy dinner?

Super high end fine dining gets pretty retarded and is more like going to a freak show than having a meal. High end casual dining is where the real good food is going down. A good complete meal with drinks should be between 150-350 at these places. Somewhat reasonable for an amazing once in a while meal experience.
