47 Ronin, remake of the one from 1941, but with magic and shit. Honor, suicide, glory and witchcraft. Mostly watched it to gear up for GoS. Not a bad watch, Neo does a fine job, not too weird. Solid 7/11.
Training Day. DW got an oscar for this, well earned. Ending was a tad over the top, but it’s easely forgiven, the previous 1h40m has nonstop great acting. Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre, Terry Crews and a whole bunch of others. Ethan Hawke does a fine job too. +1 for Eva Mendes tits. Solid 9/11. Makes me want to watch american gangster next.

. I saw 27 of those but there were also many films I never heard about. Of the 27 films I saw the only one I would not have recommended is Stardust, which did not do it for me (but I seem to remember we had some fans of this film on the boards back then - probably because of Neil Gaiman) and if I had to pick just one it would be Children of Men. It was my pick for film of the year in 2006. No small feat considering it was a very stacked year with films such as as The New World, The Prestige, Offside, The Departed, Casino Royale, Shortbus, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pride & Prejudice, etc (note that some might have been released in 2005 or 2007 in the US).
