Well I introduced my British wife to a movie about a British legend full of British actors:

It always makes me happy when I can introduce my wife to a good older movie and she really likes it. That's exactly what happened last night! My 10 year old ass watched this at the movies back in the day. This is probably my 5-6th rewatch. Helen Mirren was a fine piece of ass back in the day, and she's no slouch now. Also related to the above post, Liam Neeson is in this too and imdb trivia said he hooked up with HM and lived with her for 4 years.

8/10

Watched inside man with my wife last night.

She said (correctly) that we'd watched it already but didn't remember the ending. I did as soon as I saw Christopher Plummer. It's your proto-typical Spike Lee movie, racism where it's not needed nor called for. Film school level cinematography, and about 30 minutes too long. My wife went to sleep pretty quickly. Cannot recommend and won't watch again. 4/10.

I actually rewatched it not long ago and it still is a pretty good crime caper movie. Yeah there's some Spike Lee gayness, especially some of the music in the very beginning, but I think it's a pretty good movie.

Tonight we watched a classic , based on a classic book.

The wife had never seen it and really liked it. Not sure she really could follow what was going on but how could you not like this movie with such a stellar cast.

9/10

I recalled while watching it that I bought it on VHS , DVD, and Blu-Ray.

Never seen a Tom Clancy film but I loved the book. I read it a few years ago. Big Tom Clancy fan. I’ve tried to watch the film after I read the book but lost interest after the first ten minutes. If I’ve read a book, I tend to not watch the movie, if I watched the movie, I tend to not have interest in the book, etc. but I know it’s the only tom Clancy adaptation that the author himself said was a faithful adaptation. He didn’t like the Harrison Ford ones. It’s probably his best written book, and the one that was most heavily reined in and edited by an editor. The other ones where he essentially doesn’t have an editor are still fun and exciting to read, but there’s a lot of loose threads and a tumble weed of storylines. THFRO is very tight knit.

It's a great movie and does the book justice. John McTiernan directing, great score by Basil Polidorus, amazing cast. Even if you've read the book, it's worth watching.
