Watched Is This Thing On? this evening.

Really enjoyed it. It was pretty funny, but the biggest part that stood out was

it's the first movie out of Hollywood I can remember in forever where the couple doesn't stay separated. Like, holy shit, what a novel concept. It was refreshing to see.
It's based on a real life comic who divorced, became a stand up , and would up dating his wife after she saw him in a club doing material. He's a brit but his name escapes me.

Watched Anacondas (2025).

Surprisingly, Jack Black and Paul Rudd haven’t worked together before. Both been in Hollywood forever and both age 57 and similar circles.

it’s a very fun movie. Lots of eye Candy. Not amazing but very fun. I give it a 4/5 stars. Really engaging and has a good time. It’s basically a love letter or homage to the original Anaconda movie. Lots of jump scares and scary moments. The CGI for all the snakes were pretty bad but forgivable for a straight to Apple TV movie.

one of the better new comedies I’ve seen in the last few years.
Not nearly as good as the naked gun (2025), but still pretty fun.

I think I want to watch Cliffhanger (1993?) next. Never seen it but I love Stallone. I tried watching Mean Guns, and watched the first hour of it, but couldn’t get into it. The soundtrack alone was something else, but the plot alone wasn’t enough to carry me. Dr.Retarded Dr.Retarded

I rewatched it for the first time in eons, and it's probably more 90s B movie nostalgia for me. High school me thought it was great when it originally aired on HBO though.

Just finished watching this with the kids and it wasn’t that bad. The whole movie just sort of unfolds and doesn’t really pause for filler or heavy explanation or preaching. Allows for the main characters to bond and experience loss. Kids laughed at the animation and funny humor, we laughed at the robot nanny and the baby being carried around in a bubble. Was good for 1hr30min.

Not directly comparable but as a lesser known nominated animated movie it was kind of like being surprised by Flow last year., but Flow was actually amazing. This was just pretty good.

Uh, I hate to tell you this, but I saw it in the theaters on Christmas, so not direct to anything.

That being said, I also enjoyed the movie. My review is near the end of the thread lost somewhere down below.

That bad? He normally makes entertaining shit.
Does he though?

I like Parks & Rec and his role as Starlord (except in Vol 3), but otherwise I haven’t seen anything to write home about with him.

I did see him at LAX in 2014 and he gave me “the nod” while we were both waiting for luggage.

Its not great. Chris Pratt is strapped to a chair talking to a green screen for 90 minutes with Rebecca Ferguson as CGI of herself. The plot was a who dun it, where you are not invested in the who did it cause the characters are not really developed. Anyhow, if this was a Paul Verhoeven move in the 90's it would have been amazing, but this was too self serious and the message was: AI Judge bad, but it can learn to be good so hurray but like seriously instead of AI Judge bad you dumb apes.
