Robocop - Remake

This movie is fucking moronic. The ED-209 guns down a kid with a knife with live fucking ammunition. They COULD be using the taser rounds they give Robo (who still proceeds to gun everyone down with the sub machine gun thing) but nooooo the giant armoured walking tank guns down a kid... because he had a knife. That was within the first 5 or so minutes and the intelligence level never rose above that quality of writing. Oh, and for the record, the original is one of my favourite films of all time.
But hey, that is just my opinion.

watched it last night, like most said it was just ok. for me didn't have any wow cool moments at all. would have been better for me if he had some better tactics in his fights
The action was definitely the weakest part of the movie. Only part that was cool was him moving with the ED-209's to fuck up the targeting of the other one.

I thought the movie was alright, the reasoning behind robocop was great, but the pacing of the movie just felt off. The whole opening scene with Omar being a flashback was so unnecessary when they could have just opened with them investigating a warehouse and ended the scene with Murphy being blown up (or gunned down).

The scene where he shoots between the "woman's" legs to hit the mugger will be hilarious in the remake.

While I thought the remake was average (it being in the shadow of the original did it no favors), I did love the body horror scene when Murphy sees what's left of his body. I thought it was a pretty raw and real reaction. That's the only thing about the movie I remember.

I don't remember that at all, but I also had forgotten apparently I made this thread back in 2012! When it got necroed earlier, it really was a what the hell moment. Probably more of a surprise than when Murphy saw his mangled body.

I truly like 80s movies. Lately... some TV channels have been playing them on a loop and I've been watching them all.

When I was 8 or 9. I came home and found three tapes my dad had rented. That afternoon, I watched Robocop and Aliens. It was a very memorable afternoon. The third tape was an old Bigfoot monster truck documentary.

The 2012 remake wasn't great, body horror was really interesting but after what they did with The Crow I'm somewhat scared of remakes. I haven't watched the new Crow movie because I don't want it to taint the original for me
