Always amusing to see the Media (dailymail especially) lose their nut every international break over the lack of English players.
I suspect Greg Dykes hilariously optimistic comments in the last week have certainly amped up this weeks rerun of it all.

Aiming for a world cup win in 9 years when most of our U-21s can barely get off the bench for their clubsides and are priced way out of reach of the clubs who might actually play them is certainly a winning strategy. When EU law prohibits national associations from having proper home based quotas managers are always going to go for a cheaper Johnny Foreigner option and there's barely be a fan to dispute that logic!

There's some weird coding logic involved for English players "If Nationality = ENG then Price = Price x RND(5)"

I don't give three shites, this Ozil stuff rocks 3/4 erect. I fukn love the EPL. Tis like finding extra wiener bits in the gravy when you thought it was just all plain gravy left over.

WTF, that might be one of the gayest pictures I've yet seen but thankfully it's fake. We all know Arsenal has no trophies, next time the photoshoppe should get a better Ozil pick.

Going to the USA/Mexico game tonight. Taking a half-day at work and then heading over to the stadium to tailgate. Should be fun...unless some Mexican fans kill me.

Enjoy it bro - should be a good game, with both teams looking like absolute SHIT over the weekend. Really need to put the pedal down and lock up qualification.

I bet they are not as shit as England though

This game against Ukraine is so fucking terrible

Kinda want them to not qualify to save for the overblown hype, the terribad performances, the inevitable thrashing, the embarrassment and the excuses that will always be associated with the England Football Team.

Awful

Caught some of it - entire side looked absolutely awful. Poor tactics, giving the ball away cheaply etc. Ukraine is a decent enough side, but come the fuck on. Amazing how good some of these guys look for the clubs, and how terrible they look for country. Wilshere in particular looked out of it, and did the last match as well.

Expected when I saw they returned to benching Englands best midfielder yet again.
Whilst I definitely think Carrick should be involved in the midfield, it would be naive to think that he alone would have turned around that awful performance. Lampard, Gerrard and Wiltshire is far from a shabby midfield. The problems certainly runs deeper than just the players. I think even if you include Xavi and Iniesta in the England midfield, they will turn to shit as well.

It must be what Wenger showed the board to finally get the gold bars out of the safe to make the deal.

Love Wilshere but he's not a #10. Lacks end-product and just doesn't have the vision of one. Besides, anyone else think Gerrard and Lampard are too similiar?

I'd love to see more Oxlade-Chamberlain. And imo I think Lampard and Gerrard are statistically similar in so many ways that they canseemredundant, but provide very different methods depending on how the offence is set per match.

The problem is and has been for god knows how long simply that Gerrard and Lampard cannot play together. It really boggles my mind that successive England managers have attempted this by sacrificing players like Scholes and Carrick.

Should have been 3 or 4 up by half time, Walcott was very wasteful (and has been all season). It was inevitable that Sunderland would come back into it, very disappointing decision by Koscielny who was solid all game apart from the rash tackle. Ramsey making more match winning contributions, guy is growing every game. Wilshere was also much better, ?zil very impressive in the first half - his touch/weight of passing is unreal. Will be fun to see him and Cazorla together, though looks like Santi is out another 3-4 weeks with an ankle injury.

Arsenal were mugged off by Anthony Taylor against Villa first game of the season. He was relegated to referee in the Championship after that performance. So I'm not going to lose sleep over getting the rub of the green today. His decision to not let Jozy play on though was unbelievably bad. Why have goal line tech when decisions are still fucked up by the refs? Thought Altidore was a beast today - good signing for Sunderland.

Eriksen looks exactly the player that Spurs have been missing, Spurs looked good today (from the highlights). Just need Everton to get some points off Chelski and it will be a good weekend for the Arse.

Ozil looked every inch the world class player he is. His signing most probably provided another top 4 finish for Arsenal this year. Ref was bad and should have sent Sagna off.

Eriksen played well and was pleased with his contribution today. Still plenty of time needed to settle in but a good debut. With so many players signed, I think AVB still doesn't know his best side (as with most Spurs fans) so until a settled team is decided, I think that will work against Spurs.

Man Utd as usual seems to be lacking the creativity in the midfield. Ozil would have been the perfect signing for them. No idea why Moyes is not playing Kagawa as he could provide a bit more of a spark.

Lols to Man City drawing at Stoke. Stoke really are like a herpes team. Unpleasant, sticks around like a bad rash and just when you thought you got rid of them, they come back again later and refuse to quietly go away.

Man this Barkley kid is such a talent. Everton are playing really well.

Think Chelski might end up regretting loaning out Lukaku?! Eto'o looks like a 32 year old just off the plane from Russia. Wait..... Nobody turns world class strikers into absolute shit quite like the blues.
