Or save yourself some money and wait. The Reliant is coming out sometime soon. It's a starter ship and it will have LTI as it will have its own concept sale. Typically a starter ship at concept is around 25 dollars and with a starter package it's maybe another $10-15 at most which should get you into almost every module except maybe FPS and Social. Then later you can CCU (Cross Chassis Upgrade), which lets you keep LTI, to whatever ship you want minus a couple of that won't ever be sold again. IMO it's the best way to go. You get a cheap ship. You get to try out the game and get a full game for a decent price once it's out. Plus with the REC system you can try other ships and weapons before you buy by simply playing the game and earning REC to rent items.how u buy LTI
Pretty much. I was thinking about buying into the most basic package for this but that's the absolute furthest I would go with pre release investment. Its beem here for a while...
I look forward to earning my ships ingame instead of p2winning them prerelease.
If you upgrade the 300i to the 325a you can upgrade the 325a to a Gladius for another 20 dollars. Then you'll have a Gladius with LTI and that's worth like $240.I have the 300i with LTI from KS. Was just curious if the tards devalued my wanton investment.
I think I'll upgrade the 300i to the 325a.
Yeah, I was only going to buy a starter kit too. WAS. It's like cocaine to me now. I guess I'm not playing anything else at least, so I'm getting some entertainment value from watching the development and fucking around on the forums, right?Pretty much. Earning the ships is like...the whole point of these games, basically. Working to make enough cash to buy them. Skipping that with real world dollars just seems pointless.
I really like the Gladius, but the "short range" part has me worried. If you upgrade the 300i to the 325a you can upgrade the 325a to a Gladius for another 20 dollars. Then you'll have a Gladius with LTI and that's worth like $240.
I think Blackwulf has a pretty hold on the situation. But sometimes when people are asked, "Why do you want the ships badly enough? Why don't you earn them ingame?" the mental gymnastics they do to justify the value of the ships while also devaluing them so it's not p2w are incredible.Yeah, I was only going to buy a starter kit too. As far as P2W everything - well I currently own a long range heavy fighter. I'm sure once I start playing I'm going to want different ships. Maybe a medium sized mining ship, a cargo ship, an exploration ship, a smuggling ship. I might want to save up and buy a big ass ship, too - just for the experience. I'm going to want to get all kinds of gear for my character - upgraded guns, armor, utility items, etc.
Don't forget, the plan is to have the various ship manufacturers regularly release new model lines and updates, kind of like auto manufacturers do in the real world. You're always going to have something to strive for.
The only way to really justify putting more than the bare minimum into this game is to really believe you are helping the development, and that it's a good cause. If you can't spare the entertainment money, and you don't feel good about it, definitely don't put more than the 38$ starter pack in. In fact, if you want to just try shit out, you can buy cheaper items and just use the "free to fly" weeks. Right now it's the Gladius which is a fucking fun ship.
It seems less P2W and more P2AP (pay to avoid playing) at this point. IE, if you could just buy skills in EVE, people would do that. Though I can see where P2W will come into play right out of the gate - seems like any of us plebes not running around with capital ships will have to form alliances early on.I think Blackwulf has a pretty hold on the situation. And even though SC has raised 76million the 'helping the development' is a very real reason I think. There's a very good chance they'll run out of money before they finishing releasing the core modules they're working on.
It doesn't have a jump drive built in, but neither do most ships. The fact that it doesn't have cargo slots either makes me think it might never be able to fit one, who knows.I really like the Gladius, but the "short range" part has me worried.
Yea, that's why the 325a is kind of appealing. It seems a reasonable combat-focused all around ship that will be helpful any time I decide to go back to the game for a stint. Didn't even realize the Gladius had 0 cargo slots...It doesn't have a jump drive built in, but neither do most ships.
