I hope not (and I know, the odds are very low), because this one I'll really be excited for. The ONLY thing I enjoyed about the last season of Discovery was their re-imagined Enterprise and Pike crew.

yeah the best parts of Discovery were Pike and Discovery so a show without Michael Burnham and all the stupid klingon shit might be good but probably not. Anson Mount would be great to watch though, he was the lead in Hell on Wheels

From the official Stark Trek site. Some of you may ask why this was so shit, is it because these people are just idiots? Well, partly. But its also because they went to school neck deep in an ideology that literally hates Western culture, and heroic figures in it. Do not underestimate how much of this shit is an intentionally shitting on figures they find to be symbolic of "your" privilege and power.
The writer actually details out the "revolutionary" ways Picard was made to answer for his white male privilege, which made him a bad person despite the fact that TNG was all about equality and helping people. Even if he spent his career helping people, him not whipping himself for doing so while being male and privileged was wrong and gross. (The best part in the article is the huge schism in judgement, like Picard retiring and becoming a hermit? Is an unconscionable pity party, meanwhile, his assistant doing so? Is her logically sinking into despair and rage at her oppression...)
This is why Picard, Skywalker--they all need to be brought down a peg. And this is why the SJW politics slipping into writing feel VERY different than the progressive politics that was endemic to TNG. The old progressive politics were not based on jealousy and anger at those in power, it was about unity and understanding different points of view so we could all be equal. Modern SJW politics is NOT about that, its about shaming those who seem to share attributes with those "in power" so they are forced to admit the only reason they have power is due to some unfairness, and original sin. It is not concerned with all sides, or exploring the issue--its concerned with expressing why the anger and jealousy of the writer are justified.
Anyway, have fun trying to get through the whole article. Hope everyone enjoys their heroes being shit on for the good of "representation and diversity"! And loves the desserts of a bunch of people explaining to you how rejecting this garbage and talking about why its garbage on small msg forums makes you as bad as the powerful, corporate assholes producing it for mass media broadcasts, or...even better, how its not real at all.....
