As mentioned, this will likely continue the mortality theme from Season 1 using Q as a device.

Hence the 6 episodes-- it'll be a full arc that's in line with the greater theme of the Picard series as a whole.

Q was the right character to continue exploring these themes.
unless they gutted the writer's room and replaced them with people with talent and without a social agenda, i'm not sure how anyone can think ANYTHING was the right choice for star trek

you also have to get rid of patrick stewart, he's a really high bar shit lib

make a galaxy quest tv series w/ tim allen, imo, only way to save the series.

Picard is a long-running member of The Labour Party so if he's anything he's a Democratic Socialist.

How I guess it will go:

1) Q will make Picard question his very existence - after all, Picard did technically die and now lives on as an android. Wandavision touched on Ship of Theseus, and while another show already went there, given Picard's background it would be a hard thing to ignore in this show. Is he Picard, or just a copy, or neither?

2) He will also call on Picard to question is views on mortality - this version of Picard has similar limitations/life span, but could easily extend that. I suspect Data's decision will also weigh into this

3) Q will also focus on Picard's current situation due to his age. Ties heavily into the 2nd one.

Q usually is at his best when he is trying to "teach a lesson" and trying to test Picard/push Picard to better himself. If they stick to that version of Q, then they could (hopefully) make something good.

Man, Galaxy Quest was so good, but I don't think they can pull off a series at this point. Don't want the original to be tainted, either. Casting so flawless for that movie.

for years paul scheer from The League and How Did This Get Made has tried to do a Galaxy Quest TV show, even writing scripts and shit but it never seemed to get around. He's a VA now on the Lower Deck animated series too
More interestingly, Parisot also got into some of the plot details of the potential Galaxy Quest spinoff. The story would've jumped forward 15-20 years, just as time has in the real world. It would've picked up with Jason (Allen) getting into a fight at Comic Con after learning his series was being rebooted, but with a younger set of actors. Considering how popular reboots are right now - and the meta element of a Galaxy Quest reboot being about a reboot within the world of the program - it sounds like it would be the perfect jumping off point for the spinoff.

Fuck I don’t want to watch, but that Q and Picard interaction hits all the right nostalgia buttons. Damn you, Kurtzman!!!!

Star Trek lost me after the first couple of episodes of Discovery season 2. Just too high of a cringe ratio (garbage / quality = infinity). But I was already half out of the door during Enterprise.

As long as Kurtzman is at the helm, I'm not getting back on that ship.

The last two seasons of Enterprise are as good as any Trek out there, I never understand the gripe with it.

In hind sight Enterprise isn't as bad as it seemed at the time. The first season of TNG is way worse. Enterprise did get a littler better, but it still didn't work for me. The cringe ratio was high.
