Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

I don't have a problem with them selectively reintroducing stuff from legends, I have a problem with a no-talent hack directly copying that scene from the book into the movie with almost no alteration aside from adapting it to fit the different characters.

Yeah the matrix dodge was stupid... think of the scene like this..

Kylo swings at Luke, the saber goes right through luke, kylo looks confused and then figures it out - cut to real luke sitting there focused, in control (maybe even show a slight singe or burn on the area kylo saber passed) - cut back to kylo and he and then goes to just "walk past" luke and go get the rebels err el resistance - then luke grabs kylo and throws him back - cut to "real Luke" and show extreme exertion used to do that - cut back, Kylo stands up and starts to use the force on luke, his projection is affected by kylo (as he IS suppose to be powerful AF you know...) and then we need to see the resistance is almost out, but they find the exit is blocked...they still need more time.... cut back and luke breaks out from kylo and goes SSJ9001 and produces a huge blast of light and sound (this would be a better place to use the light speed attack result "art" in, vs when they did) - this causes everyone there to recoil and go blind/deaf for a little... cut to lukes death... cut then to mary sue saving them and proceed.

Was anyone else insanely excited for star wars land, and now feel meh because it will probably focused on this shit show.

Salvatore was basically ordered by the group head that managed the EU stories to kill Chewbacca, I thought?

Any hotel or casino made to be starwars will be dangerous as animals can just go through the walls and kill everyone- they make it out of pretty balsa wood or something.

LucasArts Licensing told him he had to kill Chewbacca, at first he didn't want to do it, but had all ready signed the deal
and was talked out of breaking the contract.
They did agree to let him decide how it was going to happen

Almost 90% or more of that whole Yuuzhan Vong shit was shit. I just remember Salvatore getting a ton of backlash, with people not realizing that the plot point of Chewbacca getting killed was something forced on him into that book.

For being creative writers they did not know the art of the troll (tm)

If I was him with that mandate, I would have had him come close to death in the book like 9 times, had him die and get force rezzed a few times and the do a 50 years later... then a scene where he dies...so...he did die in the book

The cam torrent with Chinese subtitles, or an actual rip? I watched the former version a few weeks ago.. Not that I’m interested in watching this abomination again, just curious.

HDRip which is I believe Korean or Chinese VOD, so a huge improvement over cam but a step below bluray

I have zero desire to watch this again, even if I came across it on TV. I've watched TFA at least 3 or 4 times since it came out, and even the latter half of Rogue One.

I mostly agree except I only tried to watch tfa one more time, and only made it half way through before punching myself in the nuts and turning it off.

Likewise. Have seen TFA on premium cable a few times now because it happened to be on.

The problem TLJ has on re-watch value is that it didn't meet the "so bad its good" criteria. They would have been better off going further as the late @kegkilla alluded to. Rian just didn't go far enough. He needed to cross the finish line.
