I've been way behind on anime lately due to Abiotic Factor, but I finally caught up on Clevatess. What a good fucking show.

But I realized while watching the last two episodes that there is yet another "trope" or whatever that I can't stand. The latest iteration is the bug wizard guy in Clevatess. That same fucking type of character is in half of the animes I've ever watched, where he looks out from underneath his hair with only one eye, maybe with a weirdly sharp tooth for whatever reason, and has that Snidely Whiplash, "I'm about to murder everybody but I'm not actually scary in any way," voice and demeanor. I hate that fucking character, even when I'm not supposed to hate it. The second in command guy from Kaiju #8 has that similar style, and even though he's ultimately good, I want him to die. That's also the main reason I couldn't get past episode 2 of that fire brigade show where the guy can't stop grinning, because the MC is that fucking character I hate!

Is it just me, or do others find that character as repulsive as I do? It is right behind the little kid that is a boy but looks like a girl (like 7th Prince) in the running for characters I hate watching.

Totally unrelated, started Dandadan, and wtf?? I like it, but what the fuck is this show?! From comments I assume it is just fucking batshit insane throughout.

Its just a wholesome story of a kid trying to get his balls back.

I swear they've been copying Beetleguise in ReZero, who actually did that right. All these others are retarded, I agree.

My relative that works at crunchy roll tells me they are blowing up in-house contracts and workers all over the place, and outsourcing to the cheapest of indian labor, and trying to replace people with AI, but it seems they just didn't have much of a plan.

The results have been interesting:

Apparently it has to do with the way crunchyroll builds subtitles into their files. When funimation bought cc, they switched in house to CC's method, but CC's method is more time consuming and less flexible, as it needs to be re-done for each individual language due to their text styling. The previous funimation way doesn't have this limitation, so instead of switching back they're firing everyone and taking up a 3rd new way with AI run by contracted indians.

Up until now its been a few shows effected, but it appears they've okayed the results and are going to expand it to all the shows.

I don't think she's stronger than him if he's using his ice sword and magic. It was a good episode, I hope we get a longer crazy fight by the end of the season though.
