It's comic books. Power levels and attachments are all variables for whatever the current writer wants to write. Lack of continuity has always been their Achilles heel. But the character has been around for 100 years, so that's probably inevitable.

It’s also not that serious. It’s a comic book movie. It’s supposed to be fun. That’s it.
