I think Nicholas Hoult is a great actor. He crushed it in my all-time favorite movie: Fury Road (2015). Just doesn't seem to have leading man charisma imo. He gives off much more a supporting actor vibe in everything I've seen him in. I'll check out the Order.

I really hope they make him more comic accurate in this movie. A man who loves his country first and foremost and sees the Superman as a threat to America, and not just "I am evil because good is dumb" level writing.

Well, it seems they are leaning into when Superman gave up his citizenship to the US in the comics vibes in the trailer, so that could very well be the route they go.

Either way, I'm pretty pumped for the movie at this point.

Is there a chance that a lot of that 3rd, 4th, 5th villain stuff is all part of flashbacks to establish Supes has been around for a while. Just trying to think of if it will be handled better to not make the movie feel so busy and so many bad guys.

That's my biggest ding on this movie, that there are so many new characters (at least for the general audience) to keep track of.

Yeah, there were 'a lot' of new characters in GotG, but it was just really the five heroes, the most underwritten villain in Marvel history, a handful of Xandar government types (all of whom were apparently killed offscreen when Thanos collected their stone, to audience shrugs), and some minor appearances by Thanos and co, who already 'appeared' in other movies.

This is just a complete restart, with audiences completely unknowing how Fillion relates to Ryan Reynolds (if they even recognize the Green Lantern Corps at all), etc.

I think Glenn Powell would’ve made a perfect Green Lantern over Fillion. I love Capt Reynolds but I don’t see Fillion as a Guy Gardner Green Lantern. He seems like he could play a stoic Jon Stewart style Lantern.

lots of character can work: watchmen, the suicide squad, x-men, mystery men, black Adam, etc. Black Adam had a ton of problems but the justice lords was awesome.

Tbh, just all of Firefly and then when he makes cameos on other shows. Anything you’d recommend? (Preferably a movie or particular episode of a show that’s not a huge time commitment)

Slither was pretty good, but like Void Void said, he's playing his snarky / comedic self. I don't remember when it came out but it was a pretty fun movie. Early 2000s maybe, just remember I saw it at the theater.

I don't think I've ever seen him in a real serious role.

Filion should of be Hal Jordan 15 years ago when they made the Reynolds version. Glad they are sort of making up for it now.

The good Dr. already mentioned one of his best, Slither. Hugely underrated movie.

Aside from that I'm drawing a blank on anything that isn't Firefly or a long running series.

He was entertaining in Buffy as the bad guy, but yeah Firefly/Serenity is his masterpiece. The rookie was descent in the first 2 seasons then it got more wokified and his role became more and more pointless.
