I don't get all the edge lording on this, but it was not spectacular either. Honestly the missed opportunity here is is they in fact are retconning the Kryptonians as conquerors, why not use the Power Girl version of Supergirl. She is way more interesting than Kara Danvers version and would fit the changes better, since she actually sees herself as a warrior persona. There is a ton of material they can draw from that has never been done in movies or TV before.

Anyhow, the main movie itself was fine. God Mode superman has been done to death and seeing him able to get his ass kicked adds more dramatic tension to the movie. The biggest flaw is that Guy and Mr Terrific really stole the show here. This probably needed to be two movies, one focusing on Superman and Lex and the other on the Justice Gang.

But as a reminder, GotG 3 didn't have a single character in it not from Gunn's movies - there was no contribution from the MCU.

Domestically, Superman's actually been doing very well over the weekdays as well. It probably won't hit the domestic $340M of Thor 4, to say nothing of the $370M of The Batman, but it probably will top the $280M of Sinners and whatever Jurassic 7 ends up at ($300M?)

Worldwide is different story. While it will overtake the Marvel movies, I don't know if it will overtake Jurassic 7, or even MI:8.

I'm just not optimistic for Fantastic Four. The last FF was a disaster from day one, and this one gets no contribution from MCU characters. While it's true that ticket sales don't care about demographics, and boomers wanting to see 'the 60s' count as much as kids, I honestly don't know if it will beat out Captain Falcon, either Worldwide or Domestic.

If by success you mean box office failure then sure. I think with international it may have come close to breaking even within 50-100mil but for sure nobody made any money from it.

Worldwide isnt a different story, ww is going to be much worse. It isnt going to do shit to help superman, he's a mainly American character and he doesn't do well internationally. Man of Steel made only 66mil in China and that was considered a bust at the time. Gunns superman debuted in China on 45k screens, he heavily marketed it there and it came in 4th place, is looking to only make 10mil total in its entire run there. FYI the #1 movie in the world in 2025 is Chinese Ne Zha 2 its made 2bil earlier this year. Right now #1 is the latest jurassic park sequel.

I think it will end just about what it is now, 66% domestic and 33% international. Maybe 500-550 ww. Against a reported 225mil budget and another 200mil marketing. Its not going to be snow white or the marvels bad but its definitely going to be another flop.

It cost 250mil plus estimated 150mil marketing = 400mil cost

It made 359mil domestic x 50% = 180mil
Plus 486mil international x 35% = 170mil
Total = 350 mil?

Again approx, domestic take is typically 50% (slightly more opening week but less and less each week, average 50%) and because international box office varies by country and by week between 20-40% so using 35% for the high end.

Like I said it was close to breaking even, maybe it even did depending on the international math(but probably shy 50-100mil) but it didn't make anyone any money.

It was a failure if you finance films in order to make a profit. If you are just adding to your portfolio so that you can leverage yourself to take over running your main rivals Cinematic universe you can argue it was a great success.

It definitely broke even at best but more than likely lost money. Im sure with jew math and tax credits the studio can argue anything but the man who invested in the film got back less than he put in, ie he lost money.

It's one in a long line of lessons, stop spending ~half a billion dollars on giant tent pole comic book films.

100mil budget + 100mil marketing = 200mil cost
Domestic 330mil x 50% = 165mil
International 645mil x 35% = 225mil
Total 390 mil

Do you see how 390 is a bigger number than the 200? If I loan you 200 dollars and you pay me back 390 dollars 6 months later then i made a profit. If i loan you 400 dollars and you hand me back 350 6 months later i lost money. That's how math works.

Guys all of disney+, Hulu, and ESPN made only 293 million in profit in 2023 and literally every single cent of that and more (300mil) is directly attributed to gotg3 according to some retarded faggot in this thread.

I mean, disney+ itself is a net negative it loses money, but gotg3 magically pulled out 300mil in streaming and vod.

Welcome to Hollywood accounting. D+ takes a loss but the movie makes profit adn everyone wins cause D+ is a loss leader. What a fucking concept. They could have sold the streaming rights to Netflix or whatever for more maybe but doing it within their own ecosystem lets them double dip and generate more overall. Wonder why those DCU movies pop up on Peacock or Netflix? Cause those rights get sold for a time and WB makes mo money. So yea GoTG made bank, cocane was had, sperg lords sperged and LLR needs to fix the fucking ignore function on this forum it blows donkey balls.

Its like people couldn't figure out why these streaming services never made money while Netflix dumps 30 bill a year into its own content. This is how it works. You can sell it to yourself or sell it to Netflix or whoever else but either way the film generates $$$
