Owning just about every console made doesn't make you a hipster either, it just makes you a run of the mill nerd.

You guys are so strange, it's like people cannot like another system without X-system defense force coming up with why you're dumb. Regardless of the changes done PS4 will still sell better, atleast until a price drop or kinect not being required. Even tho i bought 2 of each, i know the majority of my friends already switched up to purchasing a PS4 just due to price alone, without factoring in Microsoft's bullshit.

Its really very simple. Microsoft is terminally tone deaf and willfully blind stupid and abusing their customers. They need to suffer financially for a good long while until Ballmer et al are forced out and then we'll see Microsoft stop being such a shitty company. What they tried to do this generation was destroy game ownership as a concept. Do you get that? Its a big fucking deal.

They need to suffer and atone for their sins with the blood of their first born fucking sons like the fucking Egyptians after Moses went all staves to snakes and 7 plagues on their asses.

I just saw a 2600 one day in a game store while stoned . . . and walked out with it and, I would have to guess, 150+ games. And yes, owning most of the gaming consoles makes me a nerd, but the 2600 has a bit of hipster to it (Playing a 2600 on a party school campus in 2003 or 2004?)

And I think a case could be made that conformist / sheeple is not that far from metro (maybe originally not the case, but as metro has become more the norm, maybe so). But hard to be a conformist when your the 8 posts per page since page 1 cheerleader.

Back on track, there are 3 games that seem even remotely interesting, and of those 3, only 2 seem to be remotely worth spending money on. Project Spark, and The Division . . . Spark if it ends up being worth a shit, I can just get it for PC. The Division . . . hoping Ubi caves and it goes to PC as well.

Save for sports games, I dont see either console pulling me away from the PC. Kind of sad, console gaming used to be a really good thing.

Really not sure what you're referring to as all the times "Sony" has fucked consumers over, but the fact is that this is now, not then, and Sony has suffered a lot through the ps3 generation already.

Kinda not comparable, but nice tu quo que attempt nonetheless.

What have they done that's been comparable to this?

Sony made some very misguided attempts with hardware this last generation, but that wasn't to outright fuck us like Microsoft's attempts to destroy consumer ownership rights were.

Kinect is a mechanism for looking at the shit in your house and sending you targeted advertising related to it. I always thought the kinect was a joke, kind of like the Nintendo Power Glove, tbh. Its not a deal breaker for me, but it is a pain in the ass that I'd rather not have to deal with at all in a video game console. Even the Wii's stupid little sensor bar is a hassle at times.

I don't give a shit about Kinect. I don't give a shit about Microsoft either. What I do know is I'm not going to support a company just because they pulled their head out of their ass. I'd rather give my money to Sony who forced said action.

Kinect thing is annoying, but not something Isupercare about.

My biggest things are:

The $100 difference - It matters, it really does. Especially with the following reasons.

The PS4 is more powerful, easier to code for, and Sony isn't having yield problems (I don't trust Microsoft at all if they're having hardware issues).

Sony has far more and far better exclusives. It's not even comparable, especially with games like The Last of Us (which is probably the best game of this generation).

Sony is actively courting indie developers and is fostering an environment for them to grow and there's been nothing but super positive stuff from indie devs about them. Meanwhile, Microsoft is giving indie devs a big Fuck You.

Microsoft is just plain full of shit. They were 100% adamant that DRM was absolutely necessary for this system and that we JUST DID NOT GET IT BECAUSE WE ARE NOT DEVELOPERS. Fuck them and their messaging on that. I can't wait to see them try to explain their way out of it when someone pushes them on that.

Oh, and one more: PS+ is an absurdly better value compared to XBLG. The difference is crazy.

I just don't enjoy the (paranoid?) thought of having NSA peeping on me 24/7. If I were that voyeuristic there are a lot more interesting options out there.

Sean is acting like the polar opposite of UT but lets not focus on bull shit.

If Sony had come out and copied microsoft most of the world would have been "well that fucking sucks but guess we have to deal with it". Most of us would of bought them eventually anyway and life would of went on. Everyone would blame the developers / publishers and it'd be their way or the highway.

The ball was in Sony's court, they made a good consumer centric decision and forced Microsoft's hand. No one claims they are saints but they are certainly the lesser of two evils at this stage in the game.

I agree with everything you just said. I'm simply disagreeing with people treating Sony as if it were a fucking consumer advocacy group. I pre-ordered the Ps4 because to me it's clearly the better system.
