Hmm wasn't sean a huge xbox fanboy before? Now its like doctor jekyll and mr hyde. So amusing, especially when there are no benchmarks or any other data to make a good comparison, but keep on advertising Sean.

Eh I will probably end up with both eventually, like I have with every generation.
I'm a fan of whatever the best bet is. The X360 was for a long time and I was a huge PS2 fan before that, etc. I do not see the Xbone being the best system this time around by any stretch of the imagination.

I have absolutely 0 company loyalty. I go with whatever will serve me best.

I don't know anyone who bought into CELL. The spec leaks on the other hand have been spot on and they have the Xbone's GPU unit, which is basically the same one that the PS4 uses, being significantly less powerful. 18 compute units on the PS4's version Vs. 12 on the Xbone's. Other than that they use an identical CPU, but the Xbone has significantly slower and worse RAM that isn't as accessible (and the PS4 has some very custom bus work which makes its ram even better).

Plus the Xbone is going to run 3 OS's at once and if you think MS can pull that off without bloat then you are more of an optimistic than I could ever possibly be.
You obviously haven't played with any of the Win8 tablets out. Those are running on atoms and multi tasking like kings.

One of the OS'es is just a framework to pass data back and forth.

You are buying into this idea that an OS is a huge thing. Your router has an OS that isn't even 32 MB.

Like the people who attach themselves to the most popular person at the time and make sure to tell everyone around you, at least 50 times a day, that your "Friend" is the best(until you dump em for the next best thing).

I'm not comfortable with the term "Xbone".
I know, it's dumb as hell, but I can't stop using it since Xbox One is such a ridiculously bad name.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. XB1, maybe?

"probably"... "chances are" ...

We all remember how much more powerful the cell processor was supposed to be, right?
Both consoles are using an architecture similar to AMD's GCN architecture, but the PS4 will be running at a higher clock with significantly quicker RAM. Unless Microsoft pulled off some sort of crazy optimisation magic with the Xbox One, it will be inferior to the PS4 in terms of raw power.

It's called the xbox one because when you see it you turn one degree and walk away.

Who is that fat guy with the annoying voice, and why should I care what he has to say?

I'd be fine with that, as long as there's no fee to install the used game.

I honestly don't know what I'll get at this point. I went though four 360's until finally I gave up and got a PS3 and never looked back. This time around it's hard to tell. I like the PS controler better then the XBox, as do my kids but it's not like thats a deal breaker.

I think a deal breaker for me with the XBox would be if Netflix and stuff are blocked behind the pay wall of a Gold subscription. That always bothered me a lot.

Except that would require systems to be internect connected at all times and that's not a good idea imo.

why are people so fixated that sony has slightly higher specs?

the hardware far outpaces the software today anyways and Xbox has enough horsepower for 5 years worth of games in the future. yeah they could bring up to Sony's level but you wouldnt notice any improvement in graphicvs or performance. instead they went in a direction that offers a tangible difference and improvement - the kinect system.

Xbox One so far is leading the pack

We're not looking at a 360 - ps3 difference where they're roughly equal in terms of power. The PS4 should, on paper, be quite a bit more powerful than the Xbox One, and I'm sure Sony's first party teams will take full advantage of that.

I'm definitely curious about kinect, though, and the gameplay possibilities it might provide. Maybe it'll make up for the loss in graphical fidelity - maybe it won't. E3 should give us a better idea.

Well, I think it depends on how they handle the authentication system. You might only have to be online when installing a game, which wouldn't be too bad. We'll have to wait and see.

Side note - I find it mind boggling that Microsoft doesn't have an answer for these used games questions. They should have known that people would want to know about this stuff, and they should have had answers prepared far in advance. This is some seriously amateur shit.

Edit - Oh man..

But what if you want to bring a game disc to a friend's house and play there? You'll have to pay a fee-and not just some sort of activation fee, but the actual price of that game-in order to use a game's code on a friend's account. Think of it like a new game, Harrison says.

"The bits that are on that disc, you can give it to your friend and they can install it on an Xbox One," he said. "They would then have to purchase the right to play that game through Xbox Live."

"They would be paying the same price we paid, or less?" we asked.

"Let's assume it's a new game, so the answer is yes, it will be the same price," Harrison said.

But that doesn't mean used games are dead. In fact, Harrison told us, you'll be able to sell your Xbox One games online.

"We will have a solution-we're not talking about it today-for you to be able to trade your previously-played games online," Harrison said.

If Sony doesn't go the same route with used games it looks like that thing alone could sink the X1.
