Really they just need to tune it to a keyword to trigger it. "Shitsipper! Xbox redtube search nugget porn"
And/or set it to personal voice recognition to avoid Desidero's scenario. Where you can set it to only recognize your voice when you want.
There's various relatively easy solutions, and the "accidental" triggering problem is just something made up to bitch about.
Also, in case anyone else was just using this thread and still hasn't seen what the fuckin' thing looks like yet.
That was about the most least informative announcements I've ever watched. After about 30 minutes I was ready to move on to something else not related to the Xbox. Microsoft could have just made that 10 minutes long with them showing the console, navigating the menus, and telling people they have games but they need to all go fuck themselves because Call of Duty is why. Seriously? Call of Duty? If I was 12 and salivating at the thought of telling people I want to fuck their mothers, I might be interested. Also the fact they gave EA so much attention after all the negativity that company has received in the past year is like inviting people over to a party and telling them it's going to be the best party ever because your drunk, abusive uncle with that weird growth is coming.
Microsoft needs to lay off with that fake cheering they keep doing. It was way too obvious that no one in that crowd was cheering and it was either a voice track or a separate room with a mic and people told to cheer.
I was disappointed video game wise, but TV wise it looks to be a nice central living room unit. The Xfinity logo on the TV channel menu pretty much confirms that Microsoft is in talks with the cable companies.

Grimmlok: Those are plausible methods of dealing with it, but then again each would eat up the already lessened power of the system vs. PS4 to enable - remember this is stuff that based on their claims are running 24/7 with the system - which means it's CONSTANTLY got to be running in the background. It's possible they won't shit the bed with it, but considering the experiences most of us that have Kinect have had with it.... I'm quite dubious.

I do not get this at all. Why does any Indie dev need a publisher in this day and age? Publishers are going the way of the do-do in the digital download age. They are not needed. This really frustrates me with MS.

Considering how they did it with original Kinect I don't think the "add your own word" thing is going to be used - I was more addressing the personal voice recognition which does seem possible but horsepower requiring.
And on the "add your own word" thing that could be very hit or miss should they implement it, which I'd put the odds at close to zero.

Yeah I don't get that shit. The games have to go through whatever quality control/compatibility testing they do before it hits the market, after that it's just out there and earning them money and possibly getting good little developers on their side when they go on to bigger and better things. What's the fucking hold up here?
I guess it's just something being pushed on them by the big developers.
But...i really want to call my Xboner "Shitsipper" !

Clearly the X-1 is being made as a big handjob fest for the big developers - why should they not continue the trend and cut out anyone that's a small fry?

It's why I'm attracted to the PS4. Most Indie devs don't cater their shit to the masses they cater their stuff to their "Vision". I will say I've enjoyed more Indy games in the last couple years than the cookie cutter FPS games that have been churned out this genre by a huge margin. Most Indy Devs have original ideas is what I'm getting at basically while 99% of FPS are so friggn' stale.

I don't like using "Vision" like that, but I certainly agree with your statement otherwise. Using "Vision" like that implies Brad McQuaid style "Vision" to me which wasn't all roses. [Or even indicative of fresh ideas like you elaborated on]
